The Slingbox Tuner Review (Page 1 of 4)
Welcome to Slingbox Tuner, the next-generation Slingbox for last-generation customers. Who am I taking about? All those folks that don’t have a stack of TiVos and digital cable or satellite boxes. Slingbox Tuner is the Slingbox choice for customers that rely on terrestrial antennas and basic cable service for TV. If you currently rely ona set-top cable or satellite receiver, you’ll want to look at the Slingbox AV or Slingbox PRO to address your place-shifting needs.
The Slingbox Tuner is physically smaller than the original, coming in at about 2/3rd the size. While the look has improved compared to the original (thank you for removing the MY TV ANYWHERE print from the top of the box), it’s still a little “out there” looking for the typical antenna or basic cable user. Fortunately, the smaller footprint makes it a little easier to hide. Remember, once the Slingbox is set up you don’t need to look at it again, so feel free to bury it behind a stack of books, a cabinet, or anywhere else out of view.
