How do I obtain the latest version of the Slingbox Tuner firmware?
You can obtain the latest firmware for your Slingbox Classic by downloading the latest version of the SlingPlayer software. SlingPlayer versions prior to 2.0 include the firmware as part of the download. SlingPlayer software versions 2.0 and greater check for firmware updates over the web automatically. You can download the latest SlingPlayer software for your system here.
Why am I only getting one channel of audio?
Make sure your computer is set to output sound to both the left and the right speakers, and that the stereo option in the SlingPlayer is activated.
Does the Slingbox Tuner control external devices?
No. The Slingbox Tuner cannot control external devices such as DVRs, DVD Players, or set top boxes.
What do the lights on the Slingbox Tuner mean?
The far right LEDs indicate network and power status. The center LED indicates if the Slingbox is streaming video.
What video signals can I input into the Slingbox Tuner?
The Slingbox Tuner can accept NTSC terrestrical broadcast or analog cable signals through the RF connection. Current Slingbox softwaredisables the ability to receive terrestrial broadcast signals due to the US Digital TV transition.
How do I factory reset my Slingbox Tuner?
Press the reset button on the back of the Slingbox for five seconds. The reboot process will take 30 seconds to 1 minute. Doing so may reset the Slingbox to an earlier firmware version, so you may need to reinstall any upgrades.
How do I update the Slingbox Tuner's firmware?
While on your home network, select "Edit Properties" in the Slingbox directory. Click the "Slingbox Configuration" tab, and select "Update Slingbox Firmware" at the bottom. Follow the on-screen directions. For SlingPlayer 2.0 users, launch the Setup Assistant, then select "Software Update" in the left side menu.
What is the maximum streaming resolution of the Slingbox Tuner?
The Slingbox Tuner is capable of streaming video to a PC at a maximum resolution of 640x480.
How much does the Slingbox Tuner cost?
The Slingbox Tuner has been discontinued in the United States.
How will the analog to digital transition in the United States affect my Slingbox Tuner?
US residents who rely on terrestrial (over-the-air) broadcast television will no longer be able to receive television stations on February 17, 2009 with their Slingbox Tuner (or earlier depending on the Slingbox firmware version in service). The Slingbox Tuner cannot be connected to an external device.
Those who rely on cable service for TV delivery will need to contact their cable provider to find out if the DTV transition will affect them.

"As of 2/12/2008, the most up to date official Slingbox Tuner firmware is version 1.0.10 for US. If you need to upgrade, this firmware is included in the latest build of the SlingPlayer software for your Slingbox, which is available here."
To get the latest firmware, you need to download the latest version of the SlingPlayer software. Sling doesn't offer only the firmware files for download.

When asking for setup help please include whether you are using a PC or Mac and if you are using the Standalone Slingplayer or the web based setup program.

hi Matt, I am an absolute beginner, just have installed a slingbox tuner. The vision of it is clear, sharp, but there is no voice. What can be the problem, please help.

Problem solved, I set the location from Hungary to Austria. and now ith works.

Jaynne,
If it works while you're home and it doesn't work while you're away, then you may have your firewall and/or Router blocking access. Chekc your configuration, open the port and also, it may help, put the Sling player's IP in the DMZ within your router.
It worked for me, I set my up in California and I watched my Sling Tuner for 4 years while I was living in Sweden. So this does not suck!

Will Sling be offering any type of upgrade option for those of us with the Slingtuners or are we completely out of luck in February? I only watch over-the-air television so come February my Slingtuner will be a large $200 paperweight from what I can see.
