What is the SlingLink Turbo?

The SlingLink Turbo PowerLine Ethernet Bridge lets you turn the existing powerlines in your home or office into a high-speed network.

Why would I need a SlingLink Turbo?

Slingbox must connected to your network router in order to stream your sources to a laptop or mobile phone. Most homes do not have a wired Ethernet network connection near their cable box or other television sources, and so need something like SlingLink to establish a connection between the Slingbox and the router.

Just tell me if I need one!

If you have a wired Ethernet port or the ability to run a wire to your router in the location you wish to install your Slingbox, then no, you don't need one. If you do not have this ability, you will need a SlingLink PowerLine adapter or Wi-Fi to Ethernet Bridge to get your Slingbox on your network.

How does SlingLink Turbo compare to a Wi-Fi to Ethernet Bridge?

SlingLink Turbo products offer similar or greater data throughput performance to a 802.11g Wi-Fi to Ethernet Bridge, but offer plug and play operation and easy set up.

What is the bandwidth of the SlingLink Turbo?

SlingLink Turbo is capable of data rates up to 85Mbps.

What is the difference between the SlingLink Turbo 1-port and 4-port models?

The SlingLink Turbo 4-port is capable of simultaneously connecting up to 4 network devices through its built in 4 port switch. If you'd like to connect your Slingbox, game system, and DVR via SlingLink, then the 4 port is a great option.

Is the SlingLink Turbo bandwidth enough to support all Slingboxes?

At less than maximum speeds, the SlingLink Turbo has more than enough bandwidth to support the Slingbox Classic, Tuner, AV, PRO, and SOLO at their maximum quality settings. While still unknown, it is likely SlingLink Turbo will be able to support the upcoming Slingbox PRO HD at full quality.

Can I plug SlingLink Turbo into a power strip or surge protector?

Power strips and surge protectors can contain EMI and RFI filters that will interfere with SlingLink Turbo, and therefore may not work. For the best results, only plug SlingLink Turbo directly to the wall socket.

Is any software required to use SlingLink Turbo?

No. SlingLinks are plug and play products and do not require software to use. A software utility is available to analyze the status of the SlingLink, but is not actually required to use them.

I lost the CD that contained the SlingLink Utility. Where can I get it?

You can download the SlingLink Utility here.

How much does SlingLink Turbo cost?

The current MSRP for the SlingLink Turbo 1-Port is $79, and the MSRP for the 4-port model is $149.
