How do I setup the Slingbox PRO-HD?

Read "Installing Your Slingbox" to help you get started.

How many devices can I plug into the Slingbox PRO?

The Slingbox PRO-HD can support up to 3 AV devices, and one video only device through the unused composite or S-video connection; one through composite or S-Video, one through RF, and one high definition source through the component video input.

Can I use a different IR control cable than what's packaged?

Yes, you can use a different IR control cable with the Slingbox. You may need to purchase a 1/8" to 3/32" adapter to fit in the IR port on the Slingbox.

Why am I only getting one channel of audio?

Check audio input cables on the back of the Slingbox, and make sure your computer is set to output sound to both the left and the right speakers.

Does the Slingbox PRO-HD work with high definition sources?

Yes, the Slingbox PRO-HD is capable of receiving and streaming standared and high definition 480i, 480p, 720p, or 1080i sources through the component video input.  Consult your device manual for instructions specific to your device to set it up for high-definition output.

What do the lights on the Slingbox PRO-HD mean?

The far right LEDs indicate network and power status. The center LEDs indicate if the Slingbox is streaming video.

What video signals can I input into the Slingbox PRO-HD?

The Slingbox PRO-HD can accept NTSC 480i signals through any input, and high-definition formats (480p, 720p, and 1080i) through the component video connection or built-in ATSC tuner.

Why is the Slingbox PRO-HD not controlling my device?

Make sure that the IR cable is plugged all the way in to the IR port on the back of the Slingbox PRO and that the IR emitter is properly located above the IR receiver on your device. If so, check your control setup in the SlingPlayer software.

How do I factory reset my Slingbox PRO-HD?

Press the reset button on the back of the Slingbox for five seconds. The reboot process will take 30 seconds to 1 minute. Doing so may reset the Slingbox to an earlier firmware version, so you may need to reinstall any upgrades.

How do I update the Slingbox's PRO-HD firmware?

Launch the Setup Assistant in the SlingPlayer 2.0 software, then select "Software Update" in the left side menu. Follow the on-screen directions.

How much does the Slingbox PRO-HD cost?

The Slingbox PRO-HD's suggested retail price is $299.

How will the analog to digital transition in the United States affect my Slingbox PRO-HD?

The Slingbox PRO-HD is equipped with a terrestrial ATSC/QAM/NTSC digital TV tuner. Without any external equipment, the Slingbox PRO-HD is capable of receiving unencrypted high-definition digital signals through a rooftop antenna or cable, as well as analog cable channels. The US digital TV transition will not affect the Slingbox PRO-HD's ability to receive television signals. If you are concerned that your cable provider is not offering Clear QAM signals, contact your cable provider to see how the transition may affect you.

Why doesn't my SlingPlayer software work with the Slingbox PRO-HD?

Using the Slingbox PRO-HD on a Windows PC requires SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 or later. Mac users must be using SlingPlayer for Mac OS X version 1.0.6 or later. If you need to upgrade your SlingPlayer software, click here.

Does the Slingbox PRO-HD stream in high defintion?

The Slingbox PRO-HD will stream high definition video from HD capable sources outputting 480p, 720p, or 1080i signals on any computer running SlingPlayer for Windows 2.0 that meets the minumum recommended requirements. The Slingbox PRO-HD will not stream accept 1080p format signals.

Currently, the Slingbox PRO-HD does not stream high definition signals to Macintosh computers. An upgrade is expected in the future to enable this ability. Check the SlingCommunity frequently for information regarding this.

Is the part of only NTSC 480i signals on the RF connector true?  I thought it can receive 1080i via the ATSC tuner.

The Slingbox PRO is not the same thing as the PRO-HD. It does not have a digital tuner.
