Depending on the status of each box, the circle next to the name of the Slingboxes will change color. Green means the Slingbox is OK and you can connect to it. Red means the box is in use by someone else. You can connect to it and force them off (verify this). Blue is the box you are currently connected to via the SlingCatcher:

The streamed video can be displayed in several different modes. You can view the image in its native resolution, at 2X, in pillarbox and in full screen. Full screen is probably going to be what is desirable for most people. In order to change view modes, there is a "mode" button on the remote. Pressing it repeatedly steps between the different views. The view is always remembered between the Slingboxes and sessions.

Pillar box mode (this would be a way to preserve the 4:3 aspect ratio on a 16:9 screen)
