When Principal Skinner gets fed up with Bart’s constant pranks, he reveals to him that there is a former Springfield Elementary student who is hailed as the best prankster ever. Enter Andy Hamilton (guest voice Jonah Hill), who at 19-years-old still hasn’t grown out of his pranking days in THE SIMPSONS November 22 episode entitled “Pranks and Greens.” Because threesomes are, like you know so last week, leave it to creator Ryan Murphy to up the ante by putting the entire McKinley High gang in bed together…. when New Directions performs in a local commercial in the December 2nd episode of GLEE entitled “Mattress.” What’s the only thing more shocking than BATTELSTAR GALACTICA star Katee Sackhoff showing up as a vision in Wolowtiz’s bathtub to offer up relationship advice? How about Wolowitz in a relationship! Which is the situation he finds himself in on the Monday November 23 episode of... More »

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 19, 2009 9:48 AM

On tonight’s fantastic installment of FRINGE , a young woman’s abduction will set off a chain of events that will change everything. And at the center of said abduction is everybody’s favorite follicular challenged anti-hero: The Observer. Actually, make that Observers . Yes, tonight’s episode entitled “August” is the tale FRINGE fanatics have been clamouring for, as executive producers/writers J.H. Wyman and Jeff Pinkner finally peel back the curtain on this mysterious group of men, who as it would turn out, do a helluva lot more simply observe. What exactly do they do (or why they do it), well, we’re not quite at liberty to share those details. But what we can do is help prepare you for tonight’s episode by offering up a little challenge guaranteed to hone your observational skills. In the above line-up, you may-or-may-not observe that five Observers do not exactly belong. Post away with your... More »

Candid Cory Monteith: The GLEE Star Talks about the Future of Finn, the Perils of Fame and the Wild Ride that Comes with Starring on a Hit Show

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 18, 2009 2:18 PM

Cory Monteith and the TV Addict, 11.18.09 Toronto It may surprise you to learn that GLEE star Cory Monteith and the TV Addict go way back. Before he became everyone’s favorite singing jock, Monteith and his fellow GLEE clubbers were hangin’ with me on the set of what would soon become the most buzzed about show in recent memory, asking what I and several other reporters thought of their little “we’re singin’ and dancin’ and we’re not gonna be the next COP ROCK” show. Okay, frankly, none of them are old enough to remember COP ROCK. But I digress. During that meeting back in March , the cast wanted to know if we, the TV journalists with our fingers on the pulse of the pop-culture beat, thought this show would connect with a large enough audience to prevent it from tap dancing to an early grave. They seemed genuinely concerned... More »

Tonight's TV Addict Must Watch: MODERN FAMILY

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 18, 2009 1:59 PM

Move over Bluths, the Dunphy-Pritchett family is in the house. And with tonight’s hilarious seventh episode, the hit ABC sitcom MODERN FAMILY (9PM ABC and CityTV in Canada) inches that much closer to solidifying its status as the ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT heir apparent. Thanks in no small part to tonight’s introduction of the most inappropriate (albeit funny) family crush since George-Michael and Maeby Bluth. And the arrival of two giant movie stars — Edward Norton and Elizabeth Banks — who in the grand tradition of ARRESTED DEVELOPMENT agree to tackle a few less than flattering roles. With Norton playing an aging rock-star has-been hired by Claire to surprise Phil and Banks dropping by as Cameron and Mitchell’s party-going friend Sal. (Cameron on Bank’s Sal, “Hanging out with her is like an Amsterdam Saturday night every day of the week.” Adds Mitchell, “Ironically Sal is not allowed back in Amsterdam.” Chimes in... More »

In Defense of Last Night's HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 17, 2009 2:20 PM

In his critique of Monday night’s HOW I MET YOUR MOTHER , Time Magazine’s James Poniewozik took the writers to task for delivering a Barney-centric episode that has “decided to simply wipe out a major character arc [Barney and Robin's relationship] and grant itself a do-over.” Our take: We’re okay with that. For unlike many critics — who earlier today took to the internets to express their disdain for last night’s tour-de-force/Emmy winning performance by one Neil Patrick Harris that had Barney opening up his “playbook” by revealing the many scams, flim-flams and bamboozles that he has employs to lie, cheat, and steal his way into a women’s heart (for one night only) — we loved every minute of it. Sure, in theory Barney and Robin as a couple was a nice idea. But if Homer Simpson taught us anything, it’s that in theory , communism worked. In reality, said... More »

TheTVaddict.com: Your TWILIGHT Free Source of TV News. Guaranteed

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 17, 2009 10:45 AM

If you’re anything like this TV Addict, odds are fairly good that you’re already fed up with the media’s love affair with everything TWILIGHT (Also known as the most inexplicably overrated piece of pop culture to hit the entertainment landscape since the Jonas Bros). Which is why, theTVaddict.com just wanted to take this opportunity to outline our TWILIGHT policy: Simply put, we’ll have none of it. So if you’re looking for Taylor Lautner’s reaction to meeting a mother-daughter-duo with “Team Taylor” panties , an in-depth analysis of Stewart’s ‘New Moon’ red carpet style from last night’s premiere, or a play-by-play of Stephenie Meyer’s appearance on OPRAH , may we suggest checking out Twilight Weekly (our entertainment bible formerly known as Entertainment Weekly) or virtually every other media outlet on the internet. Today's TV Addict Top 5: Lessons Learned from Last Night's GOSSIP GIRL

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 17, 2009 9:08 AM

The third person is always supposed to be a stranger. The aftermath of GOSSIP GIRL’s much-buzzed-about threesome continued to pay unexpected dividends last night by quite frankly managing to do the unthinkable. Not only do we find ourselves in the somewhat embarrassing position of pining for the return of Hilary Duff (So much so that we’re hoping Olivia was serious and makes good on her promise to return in the fall), said ménage à trois managed to transform Dan and Vanessa — two of GOSSIP GIRL’s most notoriously uninteresting characters — into watchable ones. With bonus points for making the Parent’s Television Council look stupid by cleverly ensuring that last night’s flashback laden episode was far more revealing, shocking and scandalous than the PTC targeted episode prior. A little Chuck Bass goes a long way. Leave it to Ed Westwick to make the most of what little he was given... More »

Exclusive: GLEE to be Paired with AMERICAN IDOL in 2010

Posted to blog theTVaddict on SlingCommunity on November 16, 2009 4:59 PM

Cory Monteith and the TV Addict, Toronto, November 2009 Good News: In our exclusive one-on-one with GLEE star and fellow Canadian Cory Montieth, the actor talked candidly about how his life has changed since GLEE catapulted him to world-wide fame and what to expect from the final string of episodes prior to the show’s holiday hiatus. Bad News: You’ll have to wait until Wednesday for the interview in its entirety. And until then, settle for this good (albeit slightly obvious) news. According to Monteith, it’s official: GLEE is being paired up with the powerhouse that is AMERICAN IDOL when the show returns in 2010. Pass it on. More »
