For those of you who aren't aware, this Web site, SlingCommunity, is not run or maintained by Sling Media employees.  It's actually a smart crew based in Chicago who run a company called Capable Networks.  Well, they came out to visit Sling Media HQ last week, and I thought I'd share a little story.

Steven Jones and Ron Repking took myself and Brian Meckler out for dinner after a visit to the office.  These fine gentlemen mentioned they liked Thai food, so we took them to Marnee Thai, one of the best San Francisco Thai places I know of (notice that Googlebomb?).

Now, if you've never had Thai food before, it is typically eaten 'family-style', so you order as a group.  Easy enough, 4 people, 4 dishes, maybe an appetizer or two.  Now I knew that Jones was a vegetarian who occasionally eats fish, but I figured we'd work around that without much work.  Plus he doesn't have to eat everything we order, right?

It got a little trickier when I found out that Ron doesn't like fish at all, and doesn't much care for beef.  Brian and I (the ones who live in San Francisco, land of crazy diets) eat everything.  So Brian suggests a house specialty, an eggplant dish.  Jones doesn't like eggplant.

About 20 minutes later we order 2 appetizers and 5 dishes.  I don't know how much either of the Chicago boys ate (I still think they went back to their hotels and ordered a pizza), but I was stuffed.
