Sling Media Releases New SlingPlayer for PC and Mac OS

[blog image]

Sling Media today released an updated Windows and Mac OS SlingPlayer client for both the US and UK markets. Today's release marks the first real upgrade to the Windows SlingPlayer since 1.4 made its debut almost 9 months ago.

The US version can be found here and the UK version here.

This new SlingPlayer will work will all version of Slingbox. At this time Sling Media has released little information regarding what changes have been incorporated, but we will post the change information as soon as it becomes available.

What we do know is that the new version does include all the latest remote control codes like the TiVo S3 remote, AT&T HomeZone, etc.

It also includes the latest firmware versions for your Slingbox. So when you update your player, it will ask you if you want to upgrade to the latest firmware if you have an older version

We also recommend that, as with all other SlingPlayer upgrades, you rerun you’re A/V setup. If there is a change in the remote capabilities, audio or video this will allow you to utilize any upgraded features they may have included.
