LocationFree is HORRIBLE. First off, the software was impossible to get online. It forces you to buy a new copy for each computer. I don't know if this has changed. The installation and setup were a bear to say the least as you have to walk back and forth to and from where it's connected and your computer. Then after a week of use, the software crapped out telling me it wasn't licensed so I had to go through the whole setup again. Right after that, I sold it on eBay and bought a SlingBox. Five minutes to setup and I've been happy ever since!!!

CNN.com's John P. Falcone just did a review and comparison of Sony's new LocationFree TV product the LF-V30. You can read the complete review here.
John says:
"The LF-V30 ($250 list) adds compatibility for HD component video and has full pass-through inputs and outputs for two separate video sources. But otherwise, there's no big improvement over last year's LF-B20.
As a result, the LF-V30's flaws are even more glaring in comparison to the comparable Slingbox models, the Slingbox Pro and the Slingbox Solo." He goes on to say "Sony's setup process still ranges from mildly to excessively frustrating"
As a Slinger, it's good to know, that as John says:
"Everyone else will be better served by a Slingbox, which offers easier setup and installation, a better software client, and solid support for far more devices, including Macs and Palm, Windows Mobile, and Symbian smartphones." Read his full article here [link]
