After installing the newest firmware my slingbox doesn't connect to my home network? I have already tried resetting and all other know fixes from the site. It was working well before the upgrade

waste of time best not to upgrade

does not improve picture quality

and especially does not flipping bl@@dy fix the aspect ratio problem

(i do love my slingbox tho)

wait till the next fix

Under 1.0.6 I was able to switch between 16:9 and 4:3 on my cable box at home, depending on whether I was watching a 720p (HD) or 480i (SD) signal. Under 1.0.7 I am not able to select 4:3 for this input. I've tried every possible aspect ratio, and the new software will not allow this to work. I guess I'm going to have to go back to 1.0.6, but I don't know where to get it. This new software update was a *big* let-down for me.

asha.b & Joreg - Sorry to hear that aspect ratio isn't acceptable for you guys. The vast majority of customers we polled prefered the 1.0.7 implementation of aspect ratios versus the 1.0.6 implementation, but obviously that doesn't help you. We won't abandon you. If you guys want to show us exactly what you're seeing, feel free to send screen shots and your set-top box model to beta at slingmedia dot com. Our dev team can investigate the particulars to see how we can fold you in. For the subject, please use "Mac 1.0.7 Aspect Ratio Issue"

re: firmware - the main change is that it has the latest set of IR codes, which will be pretty important for some people. :)

If the update (which I foolishly installed on my two home Macs and MacBookPro) is supposed to have the latest IR codes, how come my remote control has disappeared on every machine? The remote icon and "view remote" are grayed out, my component video still shows as "unconfigured," and after uninstalling, and reinstalling, and then resetting my slingbox pro, not only do I get a message in the setup assistant every time that the USA isn't supported, but I am given no choice of ANY IR codes or cable boxes to select.I just get moved merrily along to "setup complete" with a nice picture and no ability to change channels.

I have been quite happy to 2 years with the Comcast remote I was offered as a choice, which is what I still use, but now nothing exists to choose from.

And, following some forum advice, yes, I even changed the IR cable. Zilch.

I can travel the world, and enjoy the one channel I selected on my cable box before I leave.

Pathetic, and incredibly upsetting.
