Well it's 11.45pm here in the UK and after 4 days of frustration I've got my SPM working... HOORAY!!! I'd purchased the very latest Belkin N1 router just before Christmas to replace the cheep router supplied by the service provider. At 11.30pm I decided to rip out the Belkin and put the cheep router back. I uninstalled SlingMedia and reinstalled on my laptop and within minutes I was up and running!! Thank you all for the help and advice during a very traumatic period. I can only say it's been worth the wait. I love this application and it looks great on the BB Bold. Thanks Guys..

will there be a sling mobile for the BB curve 8330 on sprint (power vision) there is bandwith on sprint EVDO network I know because I used it on the treo 700p
Well, I finally got the Bold working with SPM.
Questions:
1. Is it a bug in SPM - when looking at the Details of a Slingbox, you cannot alter the password OR change from Admin to Regular mode.
2. Now that I have signed in to my Sling account, I cannot manually connect to any other Slingboxes. I added a box in my Sling Account, then closed the app in the Bold, reloaded it, it said it was retrieving the list; but when loaded the added SBox is not in the list.
I could connect and watch my SB fine manually, but am getting a bad password prompt from Sling Account, and therefore cannot change it!
Oh, oooh.
Anyone?
Robert
1. No, that's as designed in the current version. Currently the connection with Sling Accounts is a one-way sync. Information is pulled into the BB, but it cannot push changes back to the account. That may change in the future.
2. If the box is added into Sling Accounts it should show up on the BlackBerry. You may need to log out of Sling Accounts and log back in. If it still doesn't show up, check http://slingaccounts.slingmedia.com/ and make sure it is showing up there.
If you add a Slingbox locally on the BlackBerry it will not be added to Sling Accounts, and it will only show up on the BB when you're logged *out* of Sling Acccounts. Logged in - Sling Accounts directly. Logged out - local directory.
If you're getting a password error from SPM BB when trying to connect to a Slingbox via Sling Accounts, use SP2.0 on the desktop to reset the password on the Slingbox using Setup Assistant.

Good work, mega, looks great on the Bold...but I can't get any of the remote functions to work (even channel changing, etc....). Any tips on getting this working? What device is connected to your Slingbox? It needs to be one of the devices included in the standard IR DB, SPM doesn't recognize custom remotes or anything like that. (No copy of SPM does, it only works with the officially supported STBs.) But if it is a supported device and it is properly configured from the desktop, SPM should have the same control.
Thanks for getting back to me....seems like I can get any function to work in the menu, except for the remote control and it's corresponding functions. I have a Directv HD DVR with just the standard remote..nothing custom. Any ideas on how I can get it going?
also would like to add the SPM as an icon on my Bold....as it is the only way I find it is to go into applications and Switch applications to show it as a recently utilized app.

The icon is in the Downloads folder on the Bold. That's where the OS sticks it - I don't know if there is a way to move it.
I know the DirecTV HD DVR is in the officially supported list and I know the remote control for it works in SPM BB, we have testers with that DVR.

Wow. Maybe I just didn't see it. I also couldn't download it for the 8330. When I have time I'll read all the blogs and find out why. I've only had a couple of beers I swear. Thanks.

Short version - platform issue with the 8130, 8330, and 8830 keeps SPM from steaming. RIM is working on it.

I have two slingboxes with same settings and same name show up as someone else mentioned. there is only one slingbox in my account. clicking on either one of them results in the error message
*What* error message? WiFi or EDGE? If WiFi, WAN or LAN? Have you looked in the BlackBerry forum here for answers?

When you say you can connect from other computers is this *WAN* or on the LAN? On the LAN doesn't matter, it is unlike SPM so it doesn't tell us anything. But if you can connect from other clients on the WAN SPM should be able to so the same - either EDGE (if the EDGE connection is fast enough) or WiFi on the WAN.
On the LAN if using the Slingbox IP lets you connect but logging into Sling Accounts fails, that sounds like the loop back issue.

This is a work phone as well and maybe there is something blocking my access that I haven't figured out yet. I'll

Just lan. I would never have thought to check this and kept screwing around with spm. So I started slingbox assistant over again and manually configured everything, including port forwarding again. Once remote viewing was back up and running, obviously the phone jumped right on. Thank you for pointing me to the WAN. I am not techy enough to have thought of that and I appreciate your advice. Let's see if I can just get one post instead of two this time.
i've reloaded the app 2x... manually entered the APN... loaded the latest BB OS... still i get "Cannot locate Slingbox (No Slingbox Finder Server Connection)"
SB works great on my mac and pc... i'm able to view homemade vids as well as youtube.com vids...
i'm not able to add, edit or delete the slingbox (My Slingbox) in the directory
any suggestions?
