CBS App Signal Approval for iPhone SlingPlayer?

The mobile gurus over at jkOnTheRun are looking ahead to the impending submission of Sling Media's iPhone SlingPlayer to the App Store for their approval, a process which has historically been unpredictable. Their gut has been telling them not to get too optimistic, particularly since a SlingPlayer in iPhone could hurt Apple's bottom line as TV watchers turn to their own TV services instead of iTunes.

Thankfully, that bleak prediction is looking up. CBS managed to get Apple's rubber stamp on their own app that streams clips and full episodes of popular shows to the iPhone. Does that mean SlingPlayer for iPhone will also get the green light?

Will the release of the DEV iPhone 3.0 BETA delay the slingplayer app from being submitted to apple, and wait to re-jigg it for iPhone 3.0 this summer? Anyone heard anything about this?

@Canada Chas I was wondering (i.e. fearing) the same thing...

This is a money issue with Apple and Itunes, Apple will not cut it's revenue stream, but facts being facts people are still buying the iphone and it's expensive data plan. If you don't think that the slingplayer app is not ready to go I am sure it is, at least as of last July, and nothing yet...don't hold your breath on that app. I have a Samsung blackjack that works great and I can tether, yea ok, not the same status as an iphone, but not the same expense...I will stick with my old blackjack and have the ability of slingplayer. Just my opinion.
