Sling Media Releases SlingPlayer for Mac OS X 1.0.9

Sling Media may be pushing the new web-based SlingPlayer for Mac a lot these days, but it doesn't appear they've completely abandonded the stand-alone desktop client either. SlingPlayer for Mac OS X 1.0.9 has just been released and is now available for download at Sling Media's website.

We don't have any official word as to what's included here since the noted release highlights are identical to those for the 1.0.8 release last month, but we do know this version contains the latest firmware builds for the PRO-HD, SOLO, and Pro, as well as a few unspecified fixes.

We'll update this entry if we're able to get our hands on any additional information on this new release.

FYI: One of the biggest "fixes" was the annoying aspect ratio bug that was existing on some video cards.

When, oh, when, will the Mac see the 2.0 that WIndows has?

when the 3.0 windows version hits, us mac users will get 2.0. So then we can complain about all the new 3.0 features we get stiffed on.

I'm not even betting on that. I'm not so sure that Mac users will ever be fully on par or even close to what Windows users get. Sad...

I've update to 1.0.9 and updated my PRO-HD and I have problems. The biggest problem is my favorites no longer work and jumping to a channel with the remote doesn't work either. I can use channel up/down but what a pain.

I have not bothered to upgrade to the newer Slingbox Pro HD primarily because Sling has not brought 2.0 SlingPlayer to the Mac! I am tired of being stiffed! Screw Sling

Looks like they finally have added support for the Cisco RNG200. This worked with a Slingbox Classic but I'm having a heck of a time getting to work with the Pro HD.
