Slingers with compatible BlackBerry models are being treated to an upgrade today, as SlingPlayer Mobile for BlackBerry 1.0.0.11 just hit the scene. You can download it directly from Sling Media's website, or accept the auto-upgrade prompt the next time you log in.

Like most minor upgrades, there are no new major features or functions compared to 1.0.02, but Sling has given the mobil BlackBerry player some touching up in the visuals department. The UI has gotten some work all the way around in the icons department, and you'll definitley see some clearer up, down, left, right arrows.

There's also some good news for those with wide-screen format BlackBerry devices like the Bold or 8900. 1.0.0.11 includes better 16:9 support when true widescreen material is being received. 

Sling is reminding legacy Slingbox owners (Classic, Tuner, and AV) that their Slingboxes will no longer be officially supported on this and future BlackBerry software releases with a reminder screen every 10 connections. Like with the iPhone player, they are not preventing legacy owners from using their Slingbox with the BlackBerry client if it works. • "Select" and Up/Down/Left/Right icons on remote bar 
• Graphics for popular icons (e.g. TiVo)
• Clock to SYM indicator
