So what do you actually watch on your smart phone?
Categories: Sling Media Product Feedback
This is pretty compelling for me. I realize its not actual TV but for some applications, it seems useful. I just started a subscription on my smartphone to see what it is like and it is quite watchable.
Of course, if I could get my TV on my smartphone or PSP, then I would drop MobiTV like a hot potato...

Being able to watch live TV from your home on your Treo really would make it a "smart" phone!
I've been enjoying the alpha version of the pocketpc player on a samsung smartphone for a little while now... Cant wait to get the beta ready for some semi-public consumption!
Best,
Jeremy
Please, please any news regarding the PocketPc player. I have a Verizon PocketPC phone with high speed internet access. I am dying to show my brother in law, how cool the Slingbox is. He have a Pocket PC phone too. I already showed the PC player, but it will be really cool on the Phone. He is looking to buy or subscribe a streaming solution, so a pocket player will be the excellent. The more the merrier!
We are hoping for a beta to be ready this Fall, with a commercial launch next Winter (2006). If we can accelerate it, we will, I promise!
Best,
Jeremy
Cool! Let me know for beta-testing. I have to get something out of this Verizon Bill.
That's really cool about a PocketPC version. I hope you guys can get it done sooner. I may have to consider buying a Pocket PC when it's available.
What about the Treo? Is there going to be any love for Palm?
I too would love to be part of an Beta test when it becomes available. I have a Samsung i730 and being able to use my PocketPC would make the $45.00 a month I pay for internet access worth it. Please add me to any list that is possibly being compiled.
It will be so great. I have used other streaming solutions with my phone, but nothing compares with Slinbox. No need to have a dedicated PC just your Slingbox and set to go mobile. I wonder how the mobile version will work. The fastest I have been able to stream on my phone is 205 kb.
I would like to be a beta tester on that also. Will it only be available for Verizon?
I must agree with jlanier03, the PSP is probably as compelling as my wireless PDA or smartphone. Seems like the guys at Sony might make it difficult tho...

I'm just hoping that when the Pocket PC software becomes available it'll be compatible with my Axim X5. I got a Linksys 802.11g CF card for it a while back and the wireless connection to the Axim rocks.
Hi,
We are looking into the Sony PSP, but no official comments just yet. Well, I'll officially say the PSP is pretty cool, but that's it. :)
Best,
Jeremy
I have a Samsung i730 also. Waiting to buy a Sling Box until PDA software is available. Being able to watch on computer isn't as exciting as on my phone would be.
i would be happy to beata test. I will be picking up a kjam or qtek 9100 in the next few weeks.
I have a k-jam (and qtek 9100) with WM05 (wifi)... as well as a couple of WM2003se wifi devices. I would be happy to beta at any time and write a review for howardforums. I alpha/beta hardware and software for a few companies (including tivo). With my travel, I could beta in different locations... and I am using my sling box already and love it. :)

I'm thinking of trading in my blackberry7520 for a Treo 650 with sprint.
Will there be software out for me to sling with it?
This would be my deciding factor
Tanks.
