I once wanted to make the Slingbox Shuffle. Everytime you watch it, it tunes to a random channel...

The MAC version could not come soon enough!!!!

I work at Best Buy in Maine and I sold TONS of Slingbox units today....Today was the first day I stumbled across this ingenious device....However....So many customers wanted one for their MAC!!!

I'll right here in Maine on Pins and Needles!!!

Just to chime in, I would certainly be buying SlingPlayer TODAY, if it were available for Mac's.

Not going to dust off an old PC just for this.

I don't know what all of this fuss is about Macs. I bought one last year and use it as my primary laptop, so I know what it can do. However, I am probably the only person I know that owns a Mac that wishes they didn't. It's brought me more integration headaches than pleasure, but I digress...

The Slingbox has actually encouraged me even more to start using a Windows machine more and more again.

Like a fool purchased a slingbox thought I would use it with the PC at work. Then found out you have to set it up with a connected PC first. No PC at home only MACs , do you need a Mac beta tester have mac have slingbox!!

David, surely you must know someone that has a Windows laptop that you could borrow to set up your Slingbox at home.

You can do all the config for slingbox using VirtualPC on the Mac. The streaming quality over emulation leaves MUCH to be desired, but you should be able to get it past the initial config so you can watch outside your home network.

And... just to add my 2c to the thread.

Definately looking forward to the Mac version. I'm trying to completely dump PCs at home (bought 3 Macs in the last 12 months) but I still keep an old ThinkPad (with a cracked screen) around just in case. I really hate pulling it out just to sling.

I imagine that porting the software to the Mac will become a great deal easier once the Intel processor based Macs are out.

I'm also available to beta test the Mac version of SlingPlayer!

I already have a Slingbox and use the PC version of SlingPlayer, but my primary notebook is a 15" G4 Powerbook.

I hope this will support PPC Macs (as well as Intel, later on.)

For now, there are no real steps to take. You are welcome to email me directly, in which case I'll add you to my list to notify you when we are taking signups, at which point we will also post an advisory here, like we did with the PAL beta build today: http://www.slingcommunity.com/article/10408/

Trust me, we've heard you loud and clear, and are going to have a Mac build out as soon as we possibly can. We are very interested in supporting the Mac community, and want to get y'all Slinging away as soon as is humanly (or even inhumanly) possible.

For now, I'm going to shut down posting on this thread, until I have another update.
