For some reason, the action for the clear button is now sending me to live tv not "clearing" as in deleting from Now playing. It worked fine before but the beta 1.05 has changed this. Bummer.

Alex,

Did you follow the steps to repeat the IR code setup?

yes Jeremy.

What's weird is it works fine from the "live tv". (it will clear the screen from any banners or if you entered a bad #)

But if you use it from Now playing, it sends you back to live tv, as opposed to giving you the quick way to delete programs from Now playing (which is the way it worked before, and the normal way the clear button works on a normal TiVo remote).

Ok, further confusion. I checked it on my second Slingbox, which is connected to a SA TiVo (Humax DRT800). And the action is different. For some reason the code works correctly on this one.

So someone changed the commands on the Directv w/Tivo virtual remote for the "clear" but left it alone on the SA version.

alright, now my "live TV" button doesn't work on my SA TiVo. I have to manually arrow down to that command. The other shortcut I've found is to hit the Guide button but it takes you to live button and loads the guide on top!

Alex,

Did you repeat the IR setup steps for both tivos?
The V0618 and S1142 are the 'best' codes for tivo now...

Best,
Jeremy

Yup, re-did them both.

I have reset the TiVo code to the standard (0) setting and they correspond to the #'s you posted. Still having problems with the Clear Button while in Now Playing. This now occurs on both the SA TiVo and the DTiVo with the Zero code.

This did fix the Live TV problem on the SA TiVo. My problem is there are 2 TiVo boxes real close to each other, so I was using the discrete code to avoid problem, which I can't use now.

Alex,

Got it, i'll see if there's a workaround for this and get back to you.

Best,
Jeremy

One thing Jeremy. (light bulb, overhead) I've been using this from my office, haven't been home yet. Is there a firmware upgrade with this new software?

September 28, 2005 6:23 PM

Alex,

Yes, there is, but it won't change the IR issues you are seeing - they are not related.

Best,
Jeremy

Quick update: I found the problem with the "clear" button, and will try to fix prior to the build going post-beta.

Current workaround: in the remote pull-down, under General, you'll find "Cancel" which performs the "Clear" function.

Best,
Jeremy

umm, V:0618 doesn't seem to have Cancel under the General tab. S:1142 doesn't seem to have it either? Which one are you using?

Appreciate the quick follow up, while it's not a crucial function, it's certainly a time saver when you are doing this remotely.

Sorry - was using something else.

Try "Exit" under "Misc"...

Alex : I noticed you have the Humax TIVO+DVDR DRT800. Do you know what IR codes that will work with the device? I cant seem to even get the Slingbox IR Blasters working with it

Thanks

Eugene

I'm having the same problem on a DSR6000

I'm using the "DirecTV with Tivo (remote address 1)" device. No "exit" in the remote dropdown menu.

Advice?
