I am constantly in a situation where I am installing SlingPlayer on a public PC (at school) which is, of course, deleted when the PC is rebooted. I fear the day, for some reason, I cannot get to my finder ID, which I have copied on a "thumb drive" and in my online email.

Is there any plan on another method for finding the Slingbox without the lengthy finder ID? Even if that method was a non-admin login, for security.

(All this makes me wonder if there are any SlingJunkies who have memorized their ID?!!?!)

Kemper,

We have some plans in the works, although nothing very specific at this time.

One thing you can also do is use a dynamic DNS service, such as DynDNS.org, and connect to your Slingbox that way.

Best,
Jeremy

Ahhh... good idea. I'll have to give that a shot!

Thanks.

Are there any ways to change this Finder ID should it get into the wrong hands besides password protection?
