If you have a device that your Slingbox doesn't control, or for which the virtual remote is missing a few important buttons, there is a way to take care of this situation yourself, using the JP1 tools.

i've done all the above, now i'm at trying to add the fix to the ir program, there's no add button at the bottom, do i need to update this or what, need help

You're going to have to be just a bit more descriptive than that Tom in order for one of us to figure out where you're going wrong.

You have been a big help, I can now clean off some of the content from my DVR. Can I modify the way the remote looks, and change the "Custom20" to something meaningful? I don't quite understand the remote mapping from RM to SBAV.cfg, could you give more instruction in doing that?

I haven't gotten into that side of things myself either, but if you open the RDF for the Slingbox using Notepad, you'll see that all of the buttons have numbers. These numbers correspond to the numbers in the SBAV.cfg file.
You can create a new custom panel for your device where you can label the buttons how you like, but then you'll have to tie the new names back to the device and I forget how to do that. If you look at how they did it for Tivo, etc you should be able to follow what they did.

I got the RM to read the file for "SAMSUNG DSB-4700F" and created a "rmdu" file.... but from the RM-Advanced menu, i still can not export to the "BIN" upgrade format... The export option is not enabled (it is masked out)....
any suggestions !!!

Looked at the guide, but in my PAL version there's no SBAV.cfg file. Any suggestions? Kind regards.

Hi Rob,
The guide isn't up to date with the latest versions of the PAL and UK software as the file and folder structure changed significantly.
I'm trying to get a new remote to work as you can read in this thread:

Any chance you can help me out, or can update the instruction document to reflect the latest version of the software?

I opened the upgrade file for "pansat 2700 fta receiver" with the RM program. It responds that the file is "URC-9910 extender 1" please choose the best match "urc9910(new) or urc9910(new) extender 1 or urc9910(old) or urc9910(old) extender 1" I choose urc-9910(new) extender 1???
Your article instruction #7 - Change the remote to the slingbox - pl version etc.
If i click on the remote block under description, slingbox is not in the options.
Please advise
