As a suggestion to all members, posting an e-mail address in a public forum can be spidered by anyone, and is an open invitation for them to send you spam and other unsolicited messages. Though SlingCommunity will not censor personal information you willingly post to the community, we strongly recommend you keep telephone numbers, e-mail addresses, and other personal information private.

Should you choose to share personal information with another member, SlingCommunity has an integrated private message system that lets you and another member communitcate via e-mail, but keeps your e-mail addresses private. To use this feature, both members must have private messaging enabled in your SlingCommunity profile.

To send another user a private message, click on the members name. Provided the feature is enabled for both members, click the link to send them a private message. When the message is received, the member can click the reply link in the e-mail to reply to the sender (do not hit reply in your e-mail client, doing so sends your message into a black hole to protect your privacy). Private messaging is a feature available to all registered members. Anonymous visitors cannot send private messages to SlingCommunity members.
