YOU JUST MADE MY DAY! Thank you to all of the developers of slingbox. I will certainly be there to purchase as soon as it's available. Would be happy to be a beta tester as well.

Just days after announcing a mobile version of the SlingPlayer at the 2006 International CES, Sling Media officially showed off an early alpha build of the SlingPlayer software for Macintosh computers.
"Having grown up a Mac fan here in Northern California, I am personally very excited to be demonstrating the capabilities of the Slingbox on the Macintosh operating system," said Blake Krikorian, co-founder and CEO of Sling Media. "From the time we announced the Slingbox, over a year ago, Mac customers have asked us when we'd deliver a Mac version of the SlingPlayer software. We are happy to say it is well on its way."
Sling Media is expecting to release SlingPlayer Mac in the second quarter of 2006. Sling states in their press release that the client will be available as a download from the Sling Media site, and will be compatible with all existing Slingboxes.

Nice! I bought a Slingbox in hopes that this would come soon and would love to use it with my Mac. Count me in for beta testing.
Hello,
After two hours of research, I bought SlingBox, this is a brilliant product. I loved it straingt forward to hook it up and Volia, I'm watching TV/TIVO from my PC desktop.
There is one problem for me, I'm a heavy Apple MAC and I love to watch my shows from my PowerBook. I love to BETA test SligPlayer for MAC. Please let me know if I can help!

I don't have a SlingBox yet, I was waiting for it to work on Macs. If there is a beta test though, I would happily go out and buy one right way.
I've got the SlingBox and I love it, and this announcement has made me love it even more.
I would love to beta test if possible.
OMG... Thank you. You must have loved reading all the messages of people like me complaining about no mac support for the last couple of months while you were developing this. Haha...
Jeremy... you know i want to beta test this.
Yeehaw.
OMG!!! I would also like to be a BETA tester. Finally got my wire run thru the attic and plugged it in. I'm actually looking forward to going to work tomorrow!!
go slingbox!!!!
Out if curiosity, did you write the slingplayer mac in universal? I ask because, with the announcment of intel Macs today, if it was not written in universal, people who buy those macs would have to run slingplayer under rosetta. It may get bad performance since it would be running under emulation.
Wahoo! Finally! And only a day or so after I was all upset at "yet another windows version of slingplayer with nothing for the macophites!"
When you need a beta tester let me know. This combined with the new MacBookPro is the mobile solution I want!
Assuming of course, that SlingPlayer.MAC is a Universal (read Huge) binary!
Great job and let us know when you need those beta testers!
We've to be little bit patients my friends. Oh yeah, it's easy for me to say since I bought my SlingBox yesterday. Loving it....
I'm sure that our friend Jeremy hook us up with the BETA version of SligPlayer for MAC OS X 10.4.4
Yeah!!! Finally! No more annoying postings from me wondering when its gonna come out. Please count me in as a beta tester and I will buy the slingbox immediately if I'm approved.
Thanks
We showed it to James Kim of Cnet yesterday, here's some of his comments: http://reviews.cnet.com/4531-10921_7-...
Excellent news Sling Media devs! Any announcement of public/private beta testing and i'm off to the store to purchase a SlingBox.
One question though, with the release of the Mac version, is there *any* hardware changes? I know all Box' will be compatible, but i'm just wondering whether to go out now and buy for my non-mobile Windows machines. ie; i've been waiting for use on my TiBook.
Can't wait!

Brilliant! No more trying to finesse a Mac solution via the hoggish Virtual PC. And we've the perfect beta test condition: SB on the right coast, already tested remotely with a PC, matched with my son's Powerbook on the left coast, wanting to catch Celts, Bruins, Patriots and Red Sox games. Count us in!
If Sling needs a Mac beta tester in Japan, I'm your man.
I've already arranged to have a Slingbox set up in New York so I can access TV in Japan. I spend most of my time in Tokyo.
