I have the same problem when using 802.11g wireless routers (Belkin pre-N and Linksys WRT54G). When I use my 802.11b Linksys BEFW11S4, I do not have this problem. Do you get this problem when connected with the enthernet cable directly to your computer?
New user for 1 day. 4 or 5 dropped connections.
My picture drops off and gives me this error message:
Unable to connect to the slingbox
Please check your network, firewall and router settings.
Has anyone isolated this type of error?
I ruled out the 75 foot run of my ethernet cable becuse another poster said ethernet (with a good cable) is good for up to 328 feet.
I'm using a wireless network but am only a few feet from my network's extender. Network signal strength meter shows full bars @ 54 Mbps.
I just added slingbox to my firewall exception list, maybe that will help?
I'd hate for this to keep happening when I'm in a hotel room watching a movie and can't tweak any home settings from there.
I get this same error!!!! I use Linksys WRT54G and have remore viewing turned on... Works fine at home but when I'm trying to access over internet, it starts streaming then gives me error: 0x93200005. Any help would be much appreciated!
Hi Expidia - you posted a year ago - if you solved this problem, can you remember how? I've tried everything recommended in other threads and by sling support - it's still happening.
I had the problem after upgrading the player software and firmware to the latest versions (1.5.0.322 and 1.0.13). I could not connect from another network range using the new client and received the 0x93200005 error.
We use the slingboxes to monitor set top boxes in the office across different VLANs (network ranges). After an upgrade it works fine if the client PC is on the same network but not from another range (VLAN). All connect through Cisco switches.
The fix I found was to uninstall the Slingplayer and reinstall the old player that came on the CD. During the network config wizard it still has the option to tick the box that enables remote viewing. This has to be done on the same network first and thereafter it should work for clients from other network ranges (including the newer versions). Probably the same for access from the Internet although I haven't tested this yet.
The old version from the CD I used is 1.3.0.168
I came across the same problem with multiple networks in my office. Things were running great until beta 2.0 then my users on other networks could not access the boxes. Kept getting the 0x93200005 error.
Tech support was completely useless. They kept asking me about my router. When I explained that there was only Cisco switches involved, there was no comprehension beyond that. All I kept hearing was that I needed a router.
At this point I no longer have the orignal CD. Does anyone know where I can get a copy of the 1.3.0.168 CD.
Any advice would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Mike
