There is alot of request from folks that can't get their Slingbox working in their workplace. Before requesting help, please read these two articles from the Slingbox Knowledge base before posting questions.
How can I tell if my Slingbox is set up correctly for remote viewing before I leave my home network?
The best way to know if you everything is working is via the SlingPlayer setup screen. You can only get to this screen if you're in the same home network as the Slingbox you want to check. Follow these steps:
1. Start the SlingPlayer application
2. Click on the menu item: View Slingbox Directory
3. Select the Slingbox that you want to test
4. Click on the "Edit Properties" button
5. Click on the "Slingbox Configuration" tab
6. In the Network Settings section, click the "Change..." button
7. After you enter your administrator password be sure you have checked the box for enabling remote viewing and click next.
8. Continue to click the "Next" button preserving all of your same settings until finally the Slingbox will report back to you whether it successfully received a remote connection.
9. If you see this screen, the chances are great that your port forwarding is incorrect and you should change the settings on your router and try again. See this article for more details: http://kb.slingmedia.com/al/6625/9428...
Using the SlingPlayer behind a Company Firewall
Some corporations use firewalls to prevent access to certain outside resources on the Internet. If you have trouble using your Slingbox from the office, this might be the reason. There are two ways in which the SlingPlayer can remotely connect to your Slingbox: using an IP address or the Slingbox Finder ID. If you see the following message, you may want to try to connect using an IP address instead of the Slingbox Finder ID:
"Unable to connect to the Slingbox Finder. Please check your Internet connection and firewall."
To configure your SlingPlayer connection using direct IP addressing
You first need to know your Slingbox WAN IP address. Here's how:
Using the computer that is on the same network as your Slingbox, go to www.whatismyip.com It will identify your WAN IP address.
1. Start the SlingPlayer.
2. Open your Slingbox Directory.
3. Click Add New Slingbox.
4. Check the check box within the Direct Connection section.
5. Enter the WAN IP address of your router and the port number that your Slingbox is using. The easiest place to find the router IP address (the one assigned by your ISP and does NOT begin with the number 192.168....) is from the administration pages for your router or from a site such as www.whatismyip.com. Unfortunately, please be certain that you only have a one router environment before you use this. To determine if you have a multiple router environment please see this article for more details:http://kb.slingmedia.com/al/6625/9428...

This has been discussed a few times here.

Might be able to fix remotely if you can remote login to your router. read the above thread and also http://www.lommage.co.uk/slingbox/ind... /> Maybe that will help you get into it.

Hello Eveyone, I'm a nooobie to the SlingBox, but in a day I got mine working at home using the following method: 1. I configured my SlingBox to use a static IP, facing the internet. No firewalls or PPOE. This seemed easy to me, although I tested it succesfully using the box's finder ID as well. Then I connected to it from my PC client, on a different home network, static IP'd behind my PIX firewall and it Worked!!! very cool. 2. After staying up till 2AM watching Space1999 episodes over my newley working SlingBox, I thought I'll try it from work tomorrow. 3. No Joy. : - ( The error I get is as follows "Unable to connect to the Slingbox. Please network, firewall and router settings. Error:0x93200005. Ok, perhaps it's the firewall at work, no problem, I'll Ask (bribe) the network admin to open to door for me, and he did. No difference? Very odd. What I'm I missing here. I can see my Slingbox configuration from the newley installed client at work when I use the Slingbox, properties, information pulldown. I can see all the settings including the DVD player using the Svideo port and codes I selected as well as the network information I put in the LAN section. Has anyone had this problem? Have I missed a configuration that will allow me to access my slingbox from work? Thanks, - Cpt
I read both articles before making this post.

I got the same problem.... and I assume I need this option in order to view my SB Pro anywhere by home. Please help!
In step 7 it says enter admin password and then enable remote
viewing. I don't have an option to enable anything.
Somebody please help, I can't get this thing to work.
Help! Everyone will probably think I'm really stupid but, I have my Slingbox Pro set up on our home network but, (It appears to be working correctly). I need dummy proof instructions for my husband of how he can access our Slingbox remotely. Can anyone give me VERY simple instructions for me to provide my husband?
Any help would be appreciated. Thanks!
Newbie here. Just bought the slingbox yesterday...fantastic concept if I can get it to work! I have installed it and home and tested from within the home network...works fine. But, when I go to work and try it behind a corporate firewall it does not work. I called Tech Support and they verified that my port forwarding set-up at home was correct, because they could connect to my slingbox with no problem. So, the problem must reside with the corporate firewall where I work. Luckily...I maintain the firewall! I first tried the direct connect solution posted above...no go...same error as when I try to use the finder. I configured a TCP and UDP passthru for port 5001 from any external to any internal...fully expecting that to work. It did not, and I'm now out of ideas. Anyone have a solution? All help is appreciated!
Something to look for when using a Motorola Q smartphone with the mobile software. Make sure your phone is connected to the internet. This sounds like one of those stupid things, but it's true. All applications I have loaded on my phone, launch the browser and establish a connection as they load. Not so with slingplayer. I redid all of my home network, reset the factory defaults and spent an hour doing everything to conect remotely with my phone. Turns out I only needed to look and see the icon for data transfer. Once I connected with the browser, then launched sling player .... TV on the phone. One more thing for the wife to tell me I don't need!
I am interested in purchasing a Slingbox AV.
My daughter is in Germany. Can I hook up the slingbox here in the states, send her the DVD and she can access my TV/DVR from her computer? Seems to look that way. The big question is, if she is accessing my TV/DVR, can I access it locally/directly at the same time? Make sense?
Any input will be greatly appeciated.
