my particular dvr isn't listed in the setup, although I can get it to work more or less by choosing "other" and one of the listed codes. However I'm not getting complete functionality since some of the buttons on the remote don't do anything. Are there codes/support for the dct6416?

Best,
B.

Chances are that the Motorola DCT6412 code will work pretty well..have you tried that?

March 15, 2006 2:36 PM

No, I haven't tried that one yet. I didn't think about it working. I can't imagine these models are that much different, so perhaps it will. I'll try it later tonight. Thanks for the suggestion.

The following version has a working "A" key for the Cox 6412 & 6416 using the 1.0.5.140 build. One of my colleagues discovered this through trial and error. I have been using it for a couple of weeks, and everything works fine.

DVR->Motorola->Other->Code 6

The "A", "B", and "C" buttons all work. The "Menu" button brings up the recorded shows menu.

This also seems to work for the Verizon FIOS QIP6416-1

Hello Group.  I am desperately trying to get the SATA port working on my DCT6416 III.  I called Comcast and of course they don't support anything like that.  An email to Motorola produced that the SATA port is DISABLED by default.  They didn't want to offer any way to activate this feature.  I suppose this is by some agreement with the Cable Entertainment industry.

 Do any of you know how to get into this little beauty... it has Firewire which Motorola indicated IS activated, and they even show a link to the blogs about it.

The ethernet connection is also in question, although I downloaded a manual earlier which says it's active.  Haven't checked this yet, but will.

 Does anyone know about the USB connector... looks like a keyboard could plug in here... Hmmmm

 Regards

I have tried setting the IR Control Code for my Motorola DCT6416 III and have tried all "other" settings.  I have not been able to get it to work.  I have been searching the net for the code for that model  but have been unable to find it either.  Anyone have any suggestions.  I really don't want to have to wait 6 months to a year for the software to be updated.  Thanks.

I have a suddenlink motorola dct 6416 and cannot get the dvr functions to work correctly. I can record but cannot view the recording. You cannot record a channel and watch another channel also. Slingbox support has been not help.

I have tried everything to get my dct 6416 III working and can not find a code to make any button work.  Can anyone help me.  I am tech deficient so I need detailed instructions.

if you download all the updates for the slingbox there is a comcast remote that is identical to the dct 6416. It works perfectly.

The Motorola 6416 II works excellently with slingTv. The KEY is to identify the Motorola as a DVR and NOT as a set top box. The only feature which doesn't work is the left/right buttons. Excellent picture quality, Wow!
