This is the place where you post the URL where we go to download the Mobile Player (hint, hint). :)

I am eagerly awaiting. Got my T-Mobile MDA all charged up waiting to try it out.

March 17, 2006 4:01 PM

Jeremy, since we all know the thing is coming out here at any moment....how about throwing us a bone and telling us about some of the specs?

March 17, 2006 4:08 PM

You big tease you! I can't hold my breath any longer.........I will die............Help me..............

How many Slingbox users out there are like me and planning on purchasing their first ever mobile phone just because of the slingplayer mobile client?

I am just waiting to see what specs I will need to have in order watch my slingbox without any troubles.

holy crap, you managed to buck the system and last this long without a mobile phone! I used to have one attached to my ear but I went to a pay-as-you-go system and now only use it for emergencies. However, if the sling player ends up being pretty nice then I will go back to a normal plan so I can get an unlimited wireless data plan. Then Ill then use the bluetooth interface on my PDA to access the phone and stream TV.

I bought my PPC 6700 the day they were made available, I got my sling box as a birthday gift, now I'm just waiting for the mobile client. Today I took my laptop to work and slinged the NCAA games by tethering the PPC. The IT department was very impressed!

Can't wait. This will give me another excuse to upgrade my low-end camera phone. BTW, anyone know if/what model Sprint carries that will work w/ the Sling mobile client?

This model looks likely (as mentioned above)-- Sprint PCS VisionSM Smart Device PPC-6700, but don't know if it's better/worse than the Treo (which I assume is a different beast altogether, i.e. not Windows Mobile).

March 21, 2006 4:47 PM

I am confused as to which one I should buy.

Verizon XV6700 or Sprint PPC 6700.

Live In SouthEast FL, FT. Lauderdale/Miami/WS Palm Beach Area. (Travel Heavyly Between These Areas)

Which one would be a better pick. Will any on these service allow me to tether to my laptop.

Thanks In Advance

Sprint PPC-6700 is a great device. Jeremy has been testing the mobile client on his, so it should work great with it. There was a ROM update for the 6700 last week that fixed a lot of bugs, so that's definitely the Sprint phone to have... I had a Treo 650 prior to this, and you're correct, they're much different, but I personally like the 6700 a lot more.

March 21, 2006 9:28 PM

where can i get the ROM update for my 6700 ?

(BTW, the xv6700 and the ppc-6700 are
the same phone, just diferent provider)

March 22, 2006 6:18 AM

check out pdaphonehome forums for the 6700.

March 22, 2006 6:20 AM

i just made the update, my 6700 is working
a way faster, i hope my sling mobile works
well too, as soon as i get it

(please jeremy, i don't get the t-shirt, at least
release the mobile client today) :(

Is It True? I heard the mobile client has been delayed a few months just like the Playstation 3. Thats what Jeremy T seems to be comparing with, in other posts?

"In the specific case of how we are communicating on the Windows Mobile build - let me close with an analogy: we announced Q1. In another world, Sony announced the PS3 will come out this November - does this mean they should be posting updates between now and then on a recurring basis reaffirming it's coming in November?"

i was actually trying to make the analogy of how nobody expects biweekly updates from a "traditional" consumer electronics company...

Q1.

March 22, 2006 3:42 PM

Jeeze Jeremy, you get in trouble no matter what you say! lol

But don't let it stop you from talking!

True enough, but...
Long before we are within ten days of November, Sony will have announced a specific day for the release.

They will have released detailed specs and requirements, many of which have already been released my them.

It is not that we want bi-weekly updates, it is that we just want one meaningful update.

Jeremy, we do appreciate your interaction with us. We know you do this of your own will, and it is great to be able to talk to you directly.

Please take my comments for what they are worth, not criticism, so much as an explanation of why we are all so impatient.

Ha,
Remember when the Demos where giving Bush a hard time right after 911 for his inaction against Afghanistan?

I remember the night before the invasion Senator Kennedy gave a big speech about how Bush was not doing anything. He looked like a big dope the next morning when the invasion began.

yeah, that's about how I feel. Vayapues the dope.
Thanks Jeremy for the great mobile player.

All I can say is...WOW
