Hi All!
Just wondered if anyone else had seen this problem. Slingbox works great local/remote but I notice that PC's on same home network seem to lose connection then regain connection after a few moments. ONLY happens when Slingbox is connected to home network. Any ideas on WHY PC's would lose conection again and again...? WHAT is the SBox doing?? Have cable modem with Airlink router. Appreciate any ideas/help.
Thanks. Tony

I actually have just encountered the exact same problem, it never happend before, but I just moved my entire network setup to another location for the summer and this is what is happening.

The network is running just fine, but when I attack the Slingbox, each PC on the nework (wired or wireless) loses their connection for a few momments and this knocks out an email push system I have in place (Sprint Biz Con).

 Any thoughts?

sounds like you UPnP setup..

Depending on the router - when a devices changes the forwards to point to themselves. All current connects might get reset, or even the whole router might see a slight blip.

Turn OFF UPnP on the router, an or any devices that can use it - ie the slingbox.

OK..If I turn off UpnP, I then should manually configure the Sling?

yes if you turn off UPnP you need to manually setup the forward on your router.. take you 2 seconds.. you should change your sling to static or at min a dhcp reservation.. Since if the IP ever changed your forward would be broke.

I have it set as DHCP, because my IP does occasionlly change.

 I'll try it tonite.. thanks.
