Hello hello,
We are spinning up another round of testing on the PAL Slingbox, and we want YOU to help.

Sling Media needs enthusiastic beta testers who are willing to spend lots of time testing the new PAL version of the Slingbox! Qualities that we look for in beta testers include:

  • Be in the UK during April, May, and June

  • Subscribe to a cable provider such as NTL

  • A passion for new technology

  • A willingness to test hardware, software, AV devices and networks in a variety of configurations

  • Time. Beta testers should expect to spend a minimum of 3 hours per week working with the Slingbox

  • Great communication skills and someone who provides timely, frequent feedback

If this sounds like you, please send me (becky at slingmedia) the information below and we'll contact you regarding the program. We know the form is long and asks for lots of information -- we apologize but we use all of it to assemble the best beta testers possible.

YOU HAVE UNTIL 5PM PT WED MARCH 22 2006 TO REPLY.

Thanks and we look forward to hearing from you!

Sling on,
Becky

almost none of your requirements met BUT:

I am an interested watcher if TV Italian national living in Tokyo since 12 years. I would put the box in Italy to watch it from Japan. Need a regular PAL UHF VHF tuner on the box.
Please notice that SONY with the copy of the sling box is taking over the market in Asia. Nobody knows your product here in Asia. If you don't rush you will have few chances here.

thanks for considering my application anyway

Please provide a little more information - Are you implying that one buys a Slingbox from the States and then installs it in a PAL area?

I have seen the NTSC version in action and would like to see it on the market soon in Europe/PAL. Have been in other Betas before (Microsoft Operating Systems, Business and Server-Software).

Hmmm... does this mean another delay for PAL? Bummer. I'd meet all of the criteria but as I don't have Windows XP that might be a problem. Good luck people....

US expatriates in Germany can already watch TV from the US via Slingbox - it's TV in the other direction that needs PAL.

Well, since the 'German TV' channel in the US folded up the only German language TV station in the Americas is Deutsche Welle TV. But now, thanks to Slingbox, German speakers in the US can watch American cop shows dubbed in German - jawohl, schnell, achtung!
