The pc Slingplayer has adjustments for the video. Certain programs (like Lost) playback very darkly on my XV6700. Anyone know if there is a way to brighten the video on the mobile player or the XV6700?

Thanks,
Chris

The only way you can adjust the brightness is with the system backlight settings. I keep mine set on super bright and the display is decent. It seems any video with dark scenes is hard to watch on a PPC. When I have changed settings when encoding movies so the dark scenes are better, then the regular scenes aren't right.

That's what I figured, but thought I'd throw it out there in case anyone has found a 'magic' solution.

I have noticed that when connected to the Slingbox, I cannot turn off the backlight in my iPAQ 5550 either by pressing and holding the on/off button or by changing the brightness in the system settings.

I would like to be able to turn the backlight completely off to save the battery during times when I am only listening to the audio.

Does anyone know how to turn it off?

I'm having a similar problem. I can change the brightness setting to off but then I have a hard time seeing the menus to turn it back on. Turning off the backlight with the slider isn't any easier. When I minimise the player the backlight won't time out to off. Perhaps it will be an optional feature on the second release to allow the backight to time out or turn off when the player mode is audio only.

Doing a google search for a backlight toggle turned up several programs to do that for the iPAQ. Right now I'm using the trial version of Pocketplus.

My cablebox has an audio passthrough, so when I turn it off I can then listen to the FM tuner I set up. One problem I'm having with Pocketplus is I'm using the 1st button remapped to toggle the backlight. But I can only do that after I have minimised the player. When the player is open it has remapped that button to the quick access menu on my cablebox even though I have the hardware mapping option unchecked. Kind of a usless remote function on the mobile player for me. I would rather just access that function with the screen remote.
