Hi everyone. I am trying to use my Slingbox in Australia...and have been successful for about three months, then about a month ago it starting acting up. The slingbox is located in Tulsa, Oklahoma at my parents home, and appearantly when it goes bad on me it winds up flashing yellow lights and needs a reset to work again. This happens up to three times a day, but for three months it never happened. So what do you think is causing it? When it happens I get the infamous 0x8007274C error telling me about a firewall, but I assure you there is not any firewall involved. The slingbox simply freezes up, starts blinking yellow and needs a reset. The biggest problem is my elderly mother has no idea what the thing does in the first place, cannot help me fix it, and of course when it goes bad it is the middle of the day here, but the middle of the night there, so I am screwed on trying to watch the TV. ANY SUGGESTIONS?

I would look to the router and its firmware as the first possible problem. I have had a similar problem with a Linksys router. Everything was great for months, then it started giving me that error. I moved to D-Link and have not had a problem since.

The other "gem" that I recently purchased was a powerstrip with an Ethernet jack. I can now "power cycle" up to 8 devices from anywhere in the world. That would solve your middle of the night issue. Here's a link to that site:

I am having the same problem.  I can see the SB and video stream when I connect locally on my router 192.168.1.100.  However, I can't seem to connect remotely.  The SB Wizard has never been able to see my SB even though it's all connected to the same router, all firewalls are down, and the Linksys WRT54G is set up with port forwarding.  I can ping the SB with no problem and see even see the MAC address of the SB over the internet.  However, no video stream.

I assume that I need to be able to select the "Network Settings" option under the "Slingbox Configuration" tab.  HOWEVER, that option is greyed out and I can't even select it.

With no way for the SB Wizard to even recognize that I have a SB and no way to select the "Network Settings" option for me to connect to the SB remotely, how can I possibly set up the SB?

This has been an EXTREMELY frustrating experience.  It can't possibly be this hard!  PLEASE HELP!  I'm at the end of my rope and thinking of returning this thing.  HELP!!!!
