With the beta expiring tonight, can anyone tell us what to expect? Will the software stop working at midnight or will there be some grace period as we wait for new software to be posted online?
Just curious as what to expect since I'm on a business trip and would be really bummed if I lost functionality until I got home.
So, can someone from Sling give us a heads up. Should we be watching our email for a key? Any clues will be appreciated!
Thanks!

Will the official version or a new beta be released a few days before the present beta expires so we can upgrade at our leasure or will we have to upgrade on the day this one expires to keep functionality?
Yeah, I was wondering that as well. I haven't received anything from Slingbox.
Well, it's April 26th and still no word. I tested out the beta version this morning and it is still ticking. So, maybe it will expire at the end of today and hopefully by then we'll have received something in the email???
I haven't heard anything yet either, but those Sling folks are in California, where it's only a little after 8:30. When they all get to work and get some coffee, we should expect to hear something.
Keep checking the homepage for the latest news and announcements!

I'm having a few problems with version 1.0.0.68 on my device so I removed the link to a build I am not sure about.
Better to wait for the "official" link methinks :)

Where did you get the link Mandingo??
Slinging Tivo HD from a Pro HD, Tivo Series 2 with cable and DirecTV from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, Humax DRT800 from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Windstream DSL.
bah- looks like you have to update to firmware on the box to use the new software.... any way to do that remotely?
The software is Version 1.0.0.68
and the Firmware needs to be Version 1.0.61
Do you have a PC on the home network?? Logmein.com has a free remote control but you'd have to have someone load it there for you first..

ryan, thank you for letting me know about that site! I've been looking for something like that for a while.
Thank you
I guess they're not releasing the software until tomorrow. The support page now has this message:
IMPORTANT BETA NOTICE
At present, the SlingPlayer Mobile software is still in BETA testing and is not yet supported through our email or phone services. Please consult our knowledge base or the www.slingcommunity.com web site for finding answers to your problems. Our customer service team will begin supporting the SlingPlayer Mobile software with the production release on April 27th, 2006.

I believe any posts made to download links were unauthorized links to beta downloads..
Amazing how some people just can't follow rules...

I've registered before the april haven't got an email to download yet. Guys will it take awhile for everyone to get there emails? will the email have a link to the direct download?
Remember, SlingCommunity isn't an official Sling Media website even though they participate here.. Although you will see news reported here quickly you still need to watch the slingmedia.com site..

Just got and installed the final version.
I was getting ticked off that it kept complaining about low memory or battery life making full screen mode not look good, so I jettisoned a couple of programs.
Still, that message was not going away.
Finally, I went into memory and adjusted the slider above 10MB for program memory, and voila, it's like a new program! :D
The specs say you have to have "at least 7MB", but I had already over 8 when I first ran it. The more, the better, I guess. It works fine now.
And for those who care (which apparently is no one here), it's still working fine on my WM2003 pre-SE version iPaq 2215. I've given up on asking if that's just an unintended consequence, since the production version is fine :)
I got it too and have successfully installed it. It's working great!
Just one glitch I found, I tried to install it over the beta version. After I did this, the beta version still popped up on my PPC (still working btw). Had to uninstall and then reinstall, which worked good except then I had to recreate all my favorites. But otherwise, looks great!
