I bought my Slingbox and sent it to a buddy who recently installed Verizon FIOS in northern virginia. So far, he's pretty happy; says the picture "absolutely" is better than he got from cable. As to to Slingbox support: they don't have the DVR on their support list. The ones they do have allow you to work live TV sufficiently, but the DVR functionality doesn't work. I couldn't get to the menu to see what was recorded, much less play it back. However, they were familiar with the Actiontec router Verizon installs, so they got that working. Motorola says, of course, that they'll only provide support to cable suppliers, not users. I contacted Slingbox today with the expectation that they'd research the equipmnet and provide the version in a (near) future update. Wrong! They basically blew me off and said go look at the forum and write your own remote. Wow. I can see it you were asking them for something out of date, but this hardware is being installed every day, and they don't support it and they don't care that they don't support it. Nice. Sounds like they have a unique piece of hardware and are developing a "if you don't like it, don't buy it" attitude.
Does anyboy have Fios TV DVR streaming via Slingbox? I am thinking of moving from DirectTivo Series 2 to Fios TV DVR. Verizon offers the Motorol DVR QIP6416. I'm wondering if I will be able to use the remote functions with the Slingplayer and more important... the SlingPlayer Mobile for my Pocket PC. thnks
No kidding. Just got off the phone and had the same conversation. Dude didn't even try to look up my device or understand who Fios was. I mean come on, thats going to be a huge market! I can't find any help. I got a DVR so I wouldn't have to watch live TV ever again. So it's pointless to get it w/out the DVR features for me.

Anybody having any luck? I mean how hard is it to write remote control codes?
ANYBODY GET IT TO WORK W/ VERIZON FIOS DVR?
Michael
I just got my Verizon DVR working about 30 minutes ago (new customer). The DVR is a Motorola QIP 6416/2006.
I chose DVR -> Motorola -> Other > Code 1.
Everything seems to work. Even the DVR stuff. I just watched some recorded cartoons (my kids). I was quite concerned but decided to take a risk, and it seems to be OK.
I like what I see so far.
Well I have a QIP 6416/2006 the remote will not work for remote viewing only when I am on the same "network" or subnet with the slingbox.
Anyone have any Ideas... ???? Out of town and stuck on fox news so things are not that bad....
I have been running my Slingbox Pro off my Verizon FIOS DRV just fine. It works both from the LAN and from outside using my Phone over Verizon Wireless. No problems with channels or watching recorded shows.
To the best of my knowledge, the FIOS DVRs are very similar to the their Motorola cable counterparts. When I set up the remote I used Motorola 64xx (I forget the exact model number). There is a 6412 or something that is close enough it works.
Brad, Had you used remote viewing before? The remote shouldn't behave any differently between LAN and WAN. The more likely problem is that your IR blaster moved.. Is there someone there or do you have any pets??
Slinging Tivo Series 2, Tivo HD, and TW cable from a Pro. Slinging Tivo HD from a Solo, Slinging Humax DRT800, and TW cable from a Classic to Sprint Mogul, AT&T SX66, N62, 8525, and Dell Inspiron 8600 with Sprint EVDO over Windstream DSL.
I just installed my slingbox to a motorola cable bx QIP2500-2. It is a regular digital cable box, not HD or DVR. I get no picture. The IR is working. The tv turns on and off and changes channels. I just have no picture. Sling Rep told me to ask you guys. Any ideas?
Also, my service is Verizon FiOS. (The remote that comes up says Comcast. Not sure if that is an issue though.)
I called Verizon...They repowered up my cable box. It is all working fine now!!!

When I got back to town I found the problem to be 2 fold, 1 the software on the QIP 6416 was frozen. I had to reboot the DVR box(unplug from wall), after the reboot I fiddle around with the IR Blaster. The IR blaster has to be lined up exaclty perfect, no dust, or no ability to change the channel. This became so un-reliable that i moved the sling box to the QIP 2500, the IR Blaster can be anywhere near the front and it works perfectly.
The only issues I have now is watching and "On-Demand" video does not work. The Verizon Box gives an error codes when the selection starts, I get the same results on the local LAN and across WAN. Never recieve any errors from the slingbox and am always able to watch live TV or a non-HD recording from the DVR.
Verizon FIOS TV/Internet user here and I don't have any issues. My Sling Pro is connected to the Moto DVR and I have all the functionality. This works over the LAN, WAN, and VPN.
I had a couple of problems using all functionality of the remote (Stop button not working) but found that the Motorola brand (not At&t, not Cox, not Comcast) model Other and Code 6 was best.

What's odd is I had Verizon FIOS when I first purchased my DVR and it worked fine. Once I got the new remotes to go with the new software the DVR wouldn't respond to a second command.
I can select and play. I can then pause or fast forward. However once I hit either of those buttons, the other playback buttons (stop, play, rewind, fastforward, pause, etc) don't work.
Slingbox still just says that hardware isn't supported. After searching google I'm surprised no one has figured out a fix for this.
