I can't believe they released this version officially when it obviously, GUIwise is not up to par to previous versions. I like the new fixes and such but this versions GUI problems just BLOW! It's obviously a problem. I see it across all 4 PC's/Laptops I own. Resizing, maximizing, dropping the favorites down, minimizing the window and when in maximized mode; when the controls fly back on the screen the GUI is really really laggy-stutters. All older version were so smooth and fast. I bet it has to do with the firmware using encryption. Which I do not mind having but I do when it screws with the use of such.

You are right that the GUI is laggy, slower than the old versions.  It has nothing to do with the new firmware though. I can run 1.04.07 with the new firmware and it runs fine. It does not have the lagginess you talk about, course the picture isn't as good and it doesn't have all the cool player stuff that the new versions have.

The old version did not have the skins or library zipped. Maybe that has something to do with it or maybe the skin(s) are just so much more complicated than the original that it is causing the problem. I dunno, but can definelty say it has nothing to do with the newer firmware or encryption.

When resizing or moving the player in windowed mode it creates a huge CPU usage spike. So there is something there in the player itself that is causing it.

Have a Sansa device or MP3 player, then check out The latest!

Beta version 1.2.0.xxx was the last great version! Luckily I still have the version around to revert to but it still lacks a few new features and fixes I like in 1.3.

Also you're correct about the firmware. I attempted to use the old .80 firmware with the new 1.3 player. The GUI was dog slow still.

Keep in mind that version 1.2 has skins too.

I'd pay Slingmedia to fix this GUI lag problem.
