I have the SA8300 SD version and what did it for me to click Remote at the top of the remote control window to open the drop-down for all the options and I have Custom 29 listed at the bottom. Selecting that menu options is equivalent of clicking Video Source on my remote control. It shows what is the video feed from the front jacks on my SA8300.

Adelphia recently enabled the Aux input on the front of my 8300HD but the SRC button on the remote mutes it instead of changing the input. Has anyone gotten it to work?? It's a little bit of work but for now I want to run another of my DVRs into that input, go to the 8300, change to the aux input, rerun the setup for the other DVR remote, and be able to use it.. I know there are multiple threads about being able to change remotes on the fly and this is another instance where that would be helpful..

I don't have the custom option on mine. What version are you using?? I'm on 1.3.0.176

I'm on v 1.2.0.157. The option was not added by me. If I click on the Remote menu I see the following categories which I can drill further into:
General
Numeric Keypad
Misc
Playback
Menu
Navigation
PIP
-------------
Custom29
It's that last menu item after the menu separator that it looks like you are missing. If there's some place I can look to get you more info so you can add it, let me know. If getting you my SA.spr file from \Program Files\Sling Media\SlingPlayer\Remote would help, email or PM me your email and I'll try to send it to you.
The remote mapping is differenct in the 1.2 and 1.3 releases, so if the function exists in the 1.3 release, it may be somewhere different.
For example, in 1.3 the LIST keyboard shortcut (T) is missing and the A, B, & C shortcuts were added back after being gone in the 1.3.0.175, but are now Crt-Shift-A, instead of just A as in the 1.2 release.
I want to bump this up. I have the same complaint with 1.4 since I use keyboard mapings to my remote. I also have an old version installed to another directory. 1.0.5.140 and it has those shortcuts. I'd like to see them back. I have the latest firmware 1.0.96, and I use the old software because of the shortcuts. I want to upgrade to Pro, and I dont think the old software will work with it.
My other complaint with 1.4 is that I wish there was a way to have true full screen without the controls sliding in every time I touch the keyboard. I want to use the keyboard shortcuts without that happening.
Ryandh, I also have the SA 8300 HD DVR and I have not had it long at all. I also hooked something up to the front but when I try to go to it useing Sling Pro it just "Mutes" the sound. Did you even figure out how to fix this issue? How do I know what software version I have? Also, Is there a way to toggle between two remote controls?? Like if I have a DVD player hooked up to the font audio/video inputes how can I control it remotely useing my Sling? Is there any way? Thanks IN Advance, Johnnnny
Here's the fix for the mute..

I have the SA 8300 HD DVR from Cox Cable in Las Vegas. Also have two Sling Pro's. The remote controller for my SA is silver colored with lots of DVR related buttons. It does not resemble the remote that is shown during setup as the Scientific Atlanta 8300. Any help would be appreciated.
