i just updated the player on my home PC and am experiencing the following:

40kbps on LAN (used to be around 800 or more)

choppy/frozen video

constantly "optimizing"

the new player works fine on my remote PC and my smartphone works well, too.   any thoughts?  thanks.

Do the video tuning wizard in help menu.. If still having problems could try a full reset on the box and setup again..  Full reset is achieved by holding the reset button for 10-20 secs

VTW did nothing.  before i take this advice and do a full reset,  is it plausible that my remote notebook works perfectly but my local PC does not and that that is a problem with the box itself?  thanks.

Although a full reset sounds drastic its normally quite a simple process - other thing to try is another PC on the LAN to rule out if it is just the PC that is having problems...  I must admit the problem stated is not one I have neccesarily heard of before so hard to comment..

Cheers

good lesson here.  since the last time i used the sling on my home PC, i updated my AV.  this problem was just a firewall exceptions issue.  all is well now.  thanks bounderboy.

I am having serious issues slinging at work also. I tested my internet connection @ http://www.abeltronica.com/velocimetro/pt/index.php?idioma=uk&newlang=u and got a download of 2.23 Mbps and an upload of 663.28 Kpbs. My slingbox is only going at 130 kbps, the picture sucks and its really slow. Anyone have some recomendations on how to change that?

I upgraded to the new US version of sling player (130176) and new firmware. Now, when I am at home on my local network, my speed is 1M/sec or less and no one at slingmedia seems to have an answer. Anyone have an idea how to resolve this?

refer to my previous post.  turn off any AV and firewall programs and then run slingplayer.  if it works, then adjust your exceptions to allow slingplayer.  that is what worked for me.

I disabled Norton AV and Int Sec and the stream rate still goes from 2Mbps to 1Mbps. Sometimes even to 400-500Kbs. I have replaced all cords and even the SB itself, tried all sorts of cord configurations, hardwired and WiFi connections and so far nothing helps. I have 2 different notebooks and they both do the same thing.  HELP!!!!  I am using an approved WRT54GC router and anb approved WET54G bridge. By all rights, thius thing should work well. HELP!!!
