I found the slingplayer software that does not support Closed-Captioned(CC)for Deaf watchers. I am very disappointed about that. I would like you technical support or slingmedia to develop it as soon as possible for Deaf badly. Thanks for your understanding, and supporting that it will be updated.

I too am very disappointed that Slingbox does not offer the closed caption feature.  Please advise if this is something the Slingbox development personnel are working on and if so when it is possibe this feature may become a reality.  Thank you,   Courtleigh

Hello  I did investigate the web site you recommended and located the unit I think you thought may work:  DV 1-AV Closed Caption / V-Chip Decoder (RCA Audio / Video Connection) work however when I called the company, Marilyn Electronics, the gentleman I spoke with was not aware of the Slingbox at all or how his unit may function with it to provide the closed caption remotely.  Since you have had the experience and believe it will work, is it possible you could you please give some additional details about how to set it up and where in the wiring and linking process the DV 1-AV CC unit would be installed?

I am open to trying your suggestion but am not prepared to spend the $159 dollars without understanding a little more about it.  I assume it would wire through the host unit someplace but just not sure beyond that.  By the way as information, we have a Slingbox classic.  Thank you,  Courtleigh (guerci1@aol.com)

I find this solution to this problem rather lazy and expensive.  But at the same time, I understand this Slingbox product caters to a specific market in mind and this closed caption issue was probably non-existence at the time you guys conceived this awesome product.  However, looking around, I am amazed that a software based closed caption decoder could not be integrated into your sling client programs.  I am not sure how much overhead this would produce on a computer but its out there and all DVD software players including Microsoft Windows Media player have them built in.

Is this something that can be supplied as a patch to your sling client programs for people who need closed caption decoding due to their handicapped nature?  I know I wouldnt expect it for a mobile device, but surely it can be done for a workstation or a desktop PC computer?  Is this also something you could provide as a beta product?

Let me know what I could do to assist you guys in producing something like this, thanks.

I am also very interested in a CHEAP preferably software (new feature) fix for this.  Doesn't the data already transfer?

I have an Slingbox AV with TiVo series 2.  Too bad TiVo just implemented CCs on the TiVo 3 to be put on the output video.

I have used the DV1-AV close caption decoder described above between my Tivo and the Slingbox AV and it works great.  Close caption is very readable on decent bandwidth.

MR1213 says the DV 1-AV Closed Caption works fine,  can you tell me how to hook it up to a Sling Pro? Do you use the RCA connections or RF connection? I have two older Caption Decoders that have to operate thru a tuner like a VCR,  I have tried to hook them up  but cannot get the CC to work thru the Sling Pro using Analog cable into the sling box.  I have a DVR connected to the Sling Pro and I am able to use the CC thru the DVR, but would like to also get CC to show up with the Analog Cable connection.
