I get disco'd and get a 0x93200005 error after several minutes of viewing my Slinbox (remote). Since it's the weekend I wont hear back from support for several days and would prefer not to wait. The box has worked fine in the past, and it still works when it's connected but it wont stay connected for more than a few minutes at a time. I believe the problem is the new software rev, or the new rev in conjunction with the firmware I have. The problem is that I can't downgrade either since every support doc on their website refers you back to the same generic download page which only has the current version of the s/w and the firmware isn't there at all. Can someone either tell me what the deal is with this thing, or give me a different link to download an older version of the software (or a new version of the firmware)? I'm hoping there's a different link and I just missed it (that never happens. :) )

I am also remote and getting this error

"Unable to connect to Slingbox. Please check your network Firewall and router settings. Error 0x93200005"

I found disabling the following Startup Item made it work for me. (goto start=>run=>msconfig and click ok then on the startup tab disable the following  if you have it.

That startup Item is 2portalmon in c:\program files\2wire\2portalmon.exe and the location was hklm\software\microsoft\windows\currentversion\run

If you are still having this issue, I have some questions for you:

- Do you have Cable or DSL?

- What is the make and model of your router and modem?

same error here... although i dont get it after 5 minutes, but when the stream starts. in fact, when i try to connect from outside the networ i get either this error, before a connection to the box has been made:

"Operation failed
Error: 0x9234006D"

or, sometimes this, after it made a connection and showed "pending" and right after "Starting stream" (but before picture gets through):

"Unable to connect to the Slingbox. Please check your network, firewall and router settings.
Error: 0x93200005"

Then again, sometimes it works without problems. Each of the 3 scenarious may happen multiple times within 30 seconds even, every time i try to connect - in no particular order - it's almost like rolling dice.

My router is a good ol standard Linksys WRT54g, v4 i think (cant check, since im 8.000 miles from home ;-) ). However - I think this problem just started, when I switched to Charter Media. Since they have about every friggin incoming standard port blocked, that servers use (21, 80, etc.) I wonder if they may have blocked some range that the box uses. I dont have this problem on the local network. I am quite network savvy myself, however - this scenario is a bit beyond me... although apps like remote desktop software and ftp for example, experience the same funkyness, when trying to get through to my workstation, acting a s a server. funny enough, it also seems random. the firewall i'd like to rule out, as its specifically set to exclude these programs from the block list.

If anyone has an idea wtf this might be caused by, I'd be more than happy to find out!

Thanks. rock on.

P.S.: I have cable and the box is connected to a box - though i really doubt that this has any effect on whats going on there.

Have you tried switching ports?  It is not unusual for ISPs to block common ports.  The Slingbox default port may be on their block list.  My ISP is known for blocking some common server ports so I did not even try 5001 and started right from the beginning with a random high port number (which works fine).  Use some random number over 10,000 for example.

I just a bought a sling box pro and I get it instance. The odd thing is that I am sitting on my home network and I can ping the router via the DHCP address and it finds all the info like the ID, mac address and so on but if I just use the ID to find the box it just flips out and finds nothing. This is not the way I excepted this to work for a first time user.

Start your SlingPlayer, and go through the network part of the setup wizard over again. from Slingbox directory > Edit > Slingbox Configuration > under Network section, click Change... accept all defaults (this assumes you already have your router properly configured) see if that fixes it Cheers.

How do I tell SlingPlayer to use the different port number?

I changed the port number on my router and used the SlingBox wizard to tell the Slingbox.

When I go through the network part of the setup wizard on my SlingPlayer, I STILL get the error and when I click on "Next" the wizard says "Connecting to SlingBox..." BUT it NEVER connects!

I had the same problem.  What I finally did was uninstall the Windows Family Safety Program and now slingbox is working great.  Try this to see if it works.  Good Luck!
