I have tried everything to get the remote viewing setup to pass on my SB.  I have a Linksys WRT54GS and DSL.  It works fine on the local network and then I go through setup and it fails every time.  I have tried changing forwarded ports, IP addresses, disabled firewalls.  Does anyone have any suggestions.  I am flying out of town for a week Monday morning before Sling tech support opens and I don't think I can do this remotely.

I have the same problem I have AT&T DSL with the SBC Siemens SpeedStream 4100 DSL Modem.  I also have a Linksys BEFW11S4 V4 wireless router.

I set up the port forwarding on the router but there are no options to do any port forwarding or any configuration on the DSL Modem.  Please help!

I am having the exact same problem.  Were you able to get this to work?

YES. The DSL modem is actually a router and not a modem. You have to find the IP address of the DSL router/modem/whatever and forward the same ports you did in your router. A couple of times I had to re-do it all over again. Maybe power outages caused it but not sure.

Thanks.  I was actually able to get it to work finally.  My issue was similar, but with a different cause.  In my case the ports were being blocked by the  ISP(Current Communications). I had to contact them to open up the ports for me on their side.  Both Sling & Current were very helpful in getting this to work for me.  Hopefully, this thread discussion will give others a couple of things to try if they are having the same problem.

I am struggling to get my slingbox to work remotely. I have a BT voyager 2100 router but even this is not listed in the help sections.

I can get it to work on my pc in the house but it won't work remotely.

Can anyone help and tell me what I need to do.

Thanks

Or you could just setup your wireless router as ACCESS POINT -- since you already doing nat on your gateway device (modem/router combo). This is problem with forwarding ports for lots of users..

Any wireless router can be used as just a plain ole access point, and then you would forward the ports you need at the actual gateway of your network.
