I'm looking at getting a smartphone from verizon wireless, my choices are the 700p or 700w from palm and then the xv6700.

I'd prefer the Treo but am a little worried about getting the slingplayer to work on it.  I've heard the 700w doesn't have enough memory and crashes all the time, pretty sure this wouldn't be good news for running the slingplayer on it.  Can I fix this problem by adding an SD card to it and then changing some settings to use more memory from this SD card or is it basically set in stone?

Is there any rumors or idea about development of a slingplayer for Palm?  Ideally I'd like to get the 700p as I've heard it's much smoother and doesn't crash much.  Can I expect a palm version sometime this year or no way?

There already is a SlingPlayer Mobile for PalmOS. I do believe that the 700p was the first supported PalmOS device. The 755p and the Centro are also supported. You might want to pay close attention to the fine print in your data plan though.

I run it on my Palm TX because most places I find myself in have free 802.11b Wi-Fi access.
