I just got the Slingbox Pro also. I set it up and it looks good on my computer. I did go in and manualy turn up the encoding (Player>Sligplayer options>Encoding). I set the bandwidth at 8000Kbps and selected 640x480. I get streaming anywhere between 4000-6000Kbps using the latest firmware and Slingplayer (1.4).
Okay, I have a SlingBox Pro. I absolutely love the idea, but I think it could be better.
Just as a preface, I am one of the infuriated Mac users and I'm running Parallels so I can run my SlingPlayer.
OKAY. So recently the quality on my Pro will vary. Sometimes it's good, sometimes very pixelated. Even when at it's best, it's nowhere close to my tv quality.
I guess my question is, if I buy the HD breakout box, how much better will it actually look? If the standard definition looks worse on my computer, which is higher resolution than my tv, will HD be worth the 50 bucks?
Also, maybe my settings are messed up, what's worked best for you?
