I want to use slingbox to watch soccer from South America.

I figured that the Slingbox tuner would be my best option.

Two questions.

First, my computer in the US won't be connected to the home network in south america. Will this be a problem?

Second, do I need a dedicated TV?

Thanks for your help

To sum up all your questions:

 1.  You don't even need a tv to have a workable slingbox - you just won't be able to watch the shows on anything else other than a computer in the location you phsycially have the slingbox.

 2.  You don't even need a computer at the same location as the slingbox - just initially to set it up.  After the slingbox is configured all you need is an internet connection (with a minimum of 256k up), a slingbox (configured), and either directly connect it to your DSL or cable modem or via a router (just be sure to forward port 5001 to the IP assigned to the slingbox if you use a router).

Now all you need is an internet connection that's worth a crap in S. America & a computer to get on it.

I have installed a Slingbox in U.S. home and work fine. I can remotely access my box through my notebook computer which I have installed and configured the particular box. I am not sure I can access my home box from overseas yet but believe it would work fine.

I am thinking to install another box overseas and watch overseas programs in U.S. My question is:
If you use my notebook computer to install and configure the new box overseas, how can I use my home desktop computer to watch the show?
In a same sense, how can I configure my desktop computer overseas to watch show in the States where my Slingbox #1 located?

Appreciate if anyone can give a hint.
