Hi.  Does anyone know how good (or bad) the quality of video is when watching US TV in India?  I am a huge Cowboys fan and want to watch Cowboys games while I am in India in December.  My slingbox is installed on my DirecTV Tivo in Dallas.  Does anyone have any suggestions as to where I can get good connection in Mumbai or Pune?  What kind of download speeds should I be looking for?  Do high speed internet cafe's satisfy the speed requirement to get a decent picture on my laptop?  I would greatly appreciate any help from some of the more experienced members of this forum.  Thanks.

I was in Dehli and Calcutta over the summer, and I have to say that the average interent cafe is far too slow for slinging. Many of the machines are running windows 98 and are not so good for anything more than email. Your best bet is to go to a nice hotel and get a daypass there on their wi-if. It is a bit expensive, but the only place that I could find to watch Earl and the Office.  You can also get vey reasonable connections in the airports, but you are not allowed in with out a ticket (so no sitting in a waiting are and getting you mail with big attachements, and using the slingbox)  Maybe other cities are better, but I was a bit disappointed.

Gunther,

Thanks for the feedback.  That does help a lot.  I was thinking of going to a five star hotel in either Bombay or Pune to use their Wi-Fi.  I know it will be a little expensive Undecided, but as an avid football fan, I have to watch my Cowboys Smile

My son lives in New Delhi and uses the slingplayer on his PC with broadband network to receive my cable programming on my Slingbox HD Pro.  He says it works great.
