Is your PC on the same LAN as the Slingbox (behind the same router)? I think it needs to be in order to do the network settings.
Carl
Ok, I just received my Slingbox Pro and attempted to set it up last night.
I have installed the hardware and software and I was able to connect and view if I connected by the IP address. However, if you run the setup wizard it does not see anything, and when I connect I'm able to edit all of the menus except for network settings.
- My Router is a D-Link DI624, in addition to having port 5001 open, I have also added the sling's IP to the DMZ.
- There is no firewall software running on my PC
- I am connected to the D-Link directly, not wirelessly
- I have performed reset after reset after software deinstall, reinstall, reset, reset, again and again and again and again.
The remote viewing is not enabled because I'm not able to get into the network settings... however, an attempt to view the stream from the WAN gets the same result as an attempt to view the stream while on the LAN if you don't use the IP:... It locates, then connects, then says "starting stream" and finally errors out with 0x93200005
I have done many searches here and on slings help pages, I can't find a resolution for this issue anywhere (aside from telling me to open the port and reset the box, which I assure you, has been done, time and time again)
Please, help!

Sorry, I thought this was a no-brainer so I didn't mention it... yes, they are on the same router, same IP range, 1 ip off from eachother.
I spent an hour on the phone with sling tech support last night and the resolution was to RMA the box. apparently I got a lemon
Chuck if you have not sent it back you may want to try this.
Add the following line in the SBCORE.INI file section [Main]:
[Main]
EnableIPSetup=1
That should allow you to set network settings manually. In very rare occurences we are seeing, that the logic behind where we think it should be automatically configured is not working and thus we are not presenting manual settings. We are looking to fix this in the next release.
chuckg said: No dice... added that line but network settings still greyed out.
For whatever reason the box thinks you are connected over a WAN , not LAN.
Support might be correct and you have a bad box.
I am not saying you didn't check this or have your setup wrong, but this is what I would do to confirm.
- Make sure Slingbox is plugged into LAN, not WAN port
- Setup the router to the factory IP setting, I believe it's 192.168.0.1 for D-Link, using a funky address for router may cause you a problem.
- Plug in any computers, etc, that you may have into your router and make sure they work.
- Create a Static address for your Slingbox, in your router, Use MAC address on bottom of Slingbox.
- plug in Slingbox, connect to router.
- reset Slngbox while plugged in. Using reset button.
- Ping Slingbox address from computer.
- If responds to Ping then try and connect to it, using slingplayer, and see if get network connection settings.
- If get network setting you can setup port forwarding manually in router. if not send it back.
Don't know if this will help or fix it, just what I would do to test.

Thanks Brandon...
Already did each and every one of those. Still no network settings.
I think I know the solution :) I set up my Pro from my desktop PC on my LAN. Network selection was never grayed out and always available. After initial setup, I installed Slingplayer on my laptop (also on the same LAN). Network settings was always greyed out on my laptop. I never cared because I could change things from my desktop.
After seeing tjhis post I decided to look into it. One difference I noticed is on the connections tab (after you select edit from the Sligbox directory window) my desktop had a password (dots) in the Login section whereas my laptop had nothing there. Sure enough, once I typed in my ADMIN password into the login section of my laptops conenction tab, the network settings is no longer greyed out. I do not have the "Log in as admin" box checked.
I am not sure if the password took effect immediately after I typed it. I hit ok, then hit closed, closed Slingplayer and reopened it. That made my previously greyed out network setting available :)
Negative, Admin password has been input, if you have the admin password in there without the box checked it thinks you are trying to use the user password and won't let you in
That is strange cause it worked for me. Mine was greyed out on my laptop and now it is not. When I first entered my admin password into my laptop connection setup window (which is different than my user password) I did also check the "log in as admin" box, hit ok, close etc, restarted the Slingplayer and network setings was now no longer greyed out. I went back and unchecked the box and network settings remained available. I am using Slingplayer version 1.4.0.195.
That is quite odd that it worked for me but not you.
OK I see what you mean about the checkbox. With it unchecked I could click on the change network settings, but it still asked for my admin password (better than it being greyed out though). With the box checked it went right to the network settind wizzard when I clicked on change.

But did you do them in the order I said?...... Just kidding.
I guess I would take the tech's advice and send the box back.

I get the same error from a basic/standard slingbox model but when trying to access across the internet. It works fine on the lan. I'm also using dlink router with dmz setting turned on and ports open etc. Everything appears as it should but when it says "starting to stream" it stops with the dreaded 0x93200005.
This slingbox was recently moved from being connect to cable box to straight basic cable in a different house. It worked fine at the other location with different combination of cable provider and router.
Any advice.
Tom
thmoore Welcome to the Sling Community! After solving your problem I hope you hang with us ahwile.
Basic question. Did you reset the slingbox after moving it? Hold the reset button down, for 5 secs, while powered up and connected to your router.
Then run through the network install wizard and make sure it says that everything is working. After that see what happens.

Yep, i reset it and ran the wizard already like you have asked. As mentioned, it works fine from within the LAN but not from WAN. I suspect my uplink on my internet might not be fast enough. How can this be tested or other ideas?
chuckg,
I am having exactly the same issue you are describing (Network Settings is greyed out). At home I can watch my TV both wired and wireless but from work or hotels I cannot. I cannot check if the device is set for "remote viewing" since I cannot get into the network settings (neither from home w/ wired or wireless or remotely). I have a Linksys WTRG54 & allowed all the ports to be opened for the IP address assigned to the Sling box & still cannot get into the network settings.
In the player if I put in the local IP address for direct connect of the slingbox the network settings is greyed out so I can't enable remote viewing. If however I uncheck the box, i first need to restart the player, then the network settings are no longer greyed out. However, when clicking on the network settings it tries to connect to slingbox but fails so I'm never able to get to the control options within network settings.
Its a catch 22 a does not seem to work for both internal and external viewing.
Well, last night I was able to enable (no longer greyed out) the network settings but I am not sure exactly how I did it. Basically I removed the original configuration and started from scratch (I wrote down the Sling ID since at my house the auto detection does not work). During the configuration there was a screen w/ a check box (don't recall the exact wording) that allowed me to set up the IP address manually. This time I checked this flag and I was prompted to enter the IP address assigned to my sling box (192.168.1.102). After I entered the IP address it actually prompted me if I wanted to enable remote viewing which of course I chose yes. I have not tried viewing from a remote site yet (since I have not traveled since yesterday) but I think this time will work & the network settings are no longer greyed out.
thmoore,
I think that your case is a little bit different but you could try what I described above and see if it works for you. The other thing that you may try is to make sure that port 5001 is opened through the firewall. In my Linksys router there is a section called Access Restrictions & a sub-menu where ports can be opened for a specific IP address (you will need to know what address was assigned to your Sling Box if using DHCP).
Good Luck!
I am absolutely positive as I have set it many times and checked many times and I know the firewall is open. In fact I set it as a "DMZ server" in DLink to expose so it automatically configured the firewall and I checked the settings and it did it correctly. The problem is I can not get to the network settings to turn on external viewing.
I am having the same problem, where I can access my Slingbox just fine from my home LAN, but when trying over the Internet I get the 0x93200005 error message.
Do I have to be on the "home" network in order to configure Network Settings (this is still grayed out even if I try to log in as administrator -- but I am at work, and not on my the same LAN as my Slingbox right now).
You do have to be on your home network to change the Slingbox network setttings.
Chuckg, I was wondering if you have any Mcafee or a vpn on this Pc?
Turn off Vpn
If you have Mcafee here is the solution,
Also check to insure you are actualy connecting you your own router and not a nighbors.
Did you forget your password?
You can also log in using OpenID.
