I am considering buying a slingbox pro now that the Mac beta release is out and am new to this product.  Can I control my HR10-250 high definition directtv tivo with it and output an HDMI signal directly to it?  Also, my laptop is a Power book G4 using 10.4 software with 1.5 meg of ram and a 1.67 GHz processor.  Will I be happy with the performance?  Thanks....

You can check whether your box is supported at slingmedia.com.  I can report that my Powerbook G4 1.67 Ghz, 1.5Gb RAM is running the player beautifully.

The Slingbox does not support HDMI.  The Pro looks like it has an HDMI port, but it's not.  It's for their upcoming HD-Connect cable which will allow you to feed up to 1080i component video to the Slingbox.  But keep in mind you will NOT be Slinging in HD.  The bandwidth requirements are way to high for that.

You should be able to control your TiVo with no problems.  And you laptop should work fine.

My PowerPC Mac Mini at 1.4Ghz has no problem running the client (30-50% CPU if I remember correctly from last night)

I love the video quality I'm seeing with the classic on my mac. I have no reason to ever see myself upgrading for a while, really. I would want to see some detailed side by side comparisons of all the different qualities before I ever considered going to the pro version even though I have a plasma TV.

Thanks - It's good to be on Mac!
