Hi all.

I was helping a friend try to update his Slingbox Classic.  It has the 1.0.19 firmware from July of 2005 on it.  He's running the Mac client which won't update the firmware so we tried to update it from my PC.  The Slingbox would NOT take 1.0.89 from the PC either.  Says it is a firmware incompatible with the Slingbox.   He's going to call SlingMedia directly, but I was wondering if anyone else has ever seen a problem with udpating a really old version of the firmware to current.

You may watch to check the threads on encryption before you decide to update.  I am wishing I had not updated mine and I am seeking the older firmware and and a way to install it so I can "down"grade mine.

I'm not concerned about the version I am trying to put on.  I still have version 80 available to me.  What my point is that a box with really old firmware is not being able to be updated with newer.  I tried even to update it to version 80 and it wouldn't.

NA9D, did you manage to get round this problem? I'm having the exact same issue on my sling classic with the same version.

I'm guessing this is caused by the firmware on there is one of the beta versions so I'm hoping that by upgrading to one of the newer versions I would then be able to upgrade to the latest but I can't seem to find anything else but the latest version floating round on the net :(

That post was like two years ago. I don't have any of that old stuff anymore.
