Will the latest yet to be delivered Beta update work for the recently announced 3G Blackjack from Cingular ?   I plan on picking mine up as soon as it arrives.

If you haven't already, I would recommend you contact them directly via established support channels. A post to a community message board isn't the same as directly contacting the company.

or my website at www.aliverson.com

I contacted the Support team and received this response: ----------------------------------------------------------- Dear Evan, Thank you for contacting Sling Media support. I understand you have a question about the Beta Slingplayer™ client for the Blackjack phone. The Dash version of the Slingplayer would most likely not be compatible with the Blackjack, however a version for the Blackjack is being developed. -------------------------------------------------------------- So a version is in development, but I guess we'll have to wait and see when it comes out. Also, the DASH version won't be the same as the BJ...interesting.

Sorry guys - I seriously miss JT, too.  Until we can find someone to replace his big Community shoes, I'll post anything official on my blog, ok??

I'm not entirely sure what that post means Sharon...I think its a good thing? I've got big shoes, perhaps I can do some replacin'.

Well Sharon from Sling Media did get back to me personaly and said that the a fix in in progress for the Samsung i607 but no beta version yet to release to Blackjack testers. I guess when its ready it will appear on her blog or right here. Stay tuned.

If you guys didnt know already, check out Sharon's blog for the i607 beta application. It says it should  be ready for test on December 7th.

Well folks I have been testing the T-mo dash beta software on my blackjack device (vers. 1.0.5.37). Unfortunately, we will have to wait for the Smartphone version for the Blackjack for the best performance.

To summarize:

The screen doesnt have the 1/4 window anymore when trying high resolutions and when dropping back down to the quick fix resolution, the screen becomes very pixelated even with a lower action encoding. The auto resoution defaults to a higher resolution other than the 160x120. Tried all variations and as Sharon confirmed (along with Sling tech), its a totally different system compared to the Dash. I am going continue testing with some other options in the next few days but I would recommend applying for the beta testing when it comes out on Dec 7th for the Blackjack. The link can be found on Sharons blog. Thanks to Sharon for expediting this beta process for the best Smartphone out there.

I also switched from a dash to a blackjack during this problem and the beta dash fix doesnt work on the blackjack.

Does anyone have a link to Sharon's blog?  I definitely want to jump all over that beta as soon as it's ready...

Best way to keep up with Sharon, is to click on Sharon's "Incredible Hulk" avatar, in any of her messages, like the one above. It will show you all of her contributions to the community. If you sort by date you will see her blogs, etc.

followed what everyone else has don by lowering the resolution.

however, the resolution is inadequate on full screen. and watching a tv the size of a stamp is pretty difficult.

I really love how slingmedia works constantly on being up to date on these things, and would like to be included on the beta testing for this very popular device and phone!

There is a beta version that works on the Blackjack.  It works fairly well and I would not be surprised if it was not released to the public in the next six weeks.  Patience.

What is the version of mobile player that I download to use it on the blackjack?  Thx.

I think this has been fixed.  I hooked up my Blackjack on Tues and went directly to the work around well now Ive been playing with it and can go full screen having the auto resolution checked with what appears to be a better quality full screen picture than the work around pic.  Can anyone else confirm this?
