Is there a list of the devices that SlingBox currently supports?

What if I do not find my device on the list? I am thinking about buying a relatively new and relatively "no name" HDD recorder (Coby 1280) to go with my slingbox.
Is it safe enough to buy or would you recommend I stick with one of the 5000 other devices listed? I would prefer not to limit myself to the recommended devices as many of them are either no longer available or are connected to a tivo type subscription service which I do not want.
Thanks,
Tim
There does exist the ability to add you own new devices with the Slingbox. Do a search for JP1 and/or bin files. The methods are pretty much DIY although there is help available if you go this route. You need to make an effort on your own because someone has to be the first to create the necessary upgrades and that requires having the exact same hardware as you. This may happen eventually but someone has to do the work first. Many manufacturers won't release the detailed info needed to make new upgrades from scratch so learning remotes, the original OEM remote control, and JP1 software tools are usually needed the first time around.
You can always search the file section at the JP1 forum for existing upgrades that would yield a starting point for a new device. This is my starting advice for adding a new remote to your Slingbox. http://www.hifi-remote.com/forums/vie...
