1.  1st off I purchased a Slingbox Pro and I think I have it hooked up correctly to my Sony HD200 Directv Sat reciever and Im using the Linksys WRT54G router.  Everything hooked up fine for in house and I can watch all channels with audio and video.  My set up for remote viewing said it was succesful as well.

2.  I have no idea how in the world to do remote viewing.  I want to hook it up at work on my computer and hook it up to my newly purchased Samsung Blackjack smart phone that has the unlimited Media Net.  When I say I have no idea I mean exactly that, what are the steps exactly and what info will I need to do it?

Do I need to install the CD Slingbox Software Installer CD on my work computer and then be prompted on what steps to take to view or do I log onto a web site to access?  Im serious I dont know.

Since the Slingbox says I have succesfully configured my router for port forwarding is that it?  Or is there more to it?  I have read many threads and articles on this but Im still lost.

To hook up my Samsung Blackjack do I just buy the SlingPlayer on line for $29.99 and it will walk me through the set up?  If so which one do I buy?  Is my phone considered a smart phone or a pocket PC?  I would assume its a smart phone but Im not sure.

What info or software will I need to hook this up at work?

Im sorry if these are considered stupid questions but the instructions on this are not very clear and all the info is probably here but it is just too scattered around to help me much.  I need step by step and concise instructions from A-Z.

I would really appreciate any help someone could give me.

Thanks

The easiest way to setup on another computer is to download the slingplayer software from the web site and then install it.  However, many companies do not allow employees to install software on work computers, so that may not be possible for you to do.

A work around that usually works is to copy the entire slingplayer folder from your PC onto a USB flash drive, then plug that drive into another computer and run the software from the USB drive.  That will normally get you around not having admin rights to install software.

Keep in mind, it is also possible that your employer may have streaming video blocked so that you won't be able to sling even if you get the software to work.  Also be aware that some companies can be pretty nasty with employees who do run software that their IT department didn't install, so proceed at your own risk.

Can't help you with your questions on the portable device, maybe someone else will jump in with info.

I have hooked up at work and yes I am an idiot, everything worked perfect.  I dont know what I was worried avout I guess I just assumed that I would have problems but none so far.  I will wait to see if anyone else chimes in on hooking up my Samsung Blackjack but if no one does I will go ahead and give it a try and if it is as easy as remote pc viewing I shouldnt have any problems.  The sad thing is if you hadnt told me to download the slingplayer software from the web site I would still be lost, Im serious.

Thanks again
