I've got the 508, which I think is basically the same. The IR codes for the DISH 508 didn't work, so I used the first dish option (DISH reciever code 2), and it worked perfectly.

Were you able to save this problem? I have a dish PVR 510 and the only IR codes I can get to work are the codes for an older device that has no PVR capabilities. So if I want to control the slingbox remotely I have to do it through the virtual remote control that is different from my actual PVR remote. Any idea how to fix this? Without that capability the Slingbox is just another expensive paperweight. I live overseas and depend on being able to record. Very frustrating.
You may need to change the IR code on your Dish receiver. See your manual for this. The 510 uses BOTH IR and Infrared. I know as I used to have one. Controlled two of them with my ReplayTVs (Yeah, I know a DVR controlling a DVR but Replay's software is so much better).
