Korean Airlines using Boeings (now defunct) internet service. It was awesome, watched all my shows at 35000 feet for 14 hours!

Holy crap.  Thats awesome!  Guessing you're flying from the midwest or west coast...east coast takes 15+ hours to get to Korea

Yeah, I did it from Frankfort to Chicago last year. Too bad the network is shut down now (the original post was from Feb 2007). It was cool watching shows on my DVR at 35,000 feet and sending e-mail to people from the plane...

How much does that service cost?  And how fast was the slingbox feed?

Do you not read? The service is gone - nonexistent. Boeing shut it down because it was losing money. The service cost $29.00 for the entire flight. However, when I used it, it was free because it was about a month away from being shut down. You can't do this any longer until the time when someone else comes out with broadband access on airlines. I know of several companies working on this and it will happen again but right now there is nothing.

Ah, sorry - it wasn't clear.  Thought Korean Airlines bought the service from Boeing.

Yeah, I read about a couple airlines adding Wifi.  Must be hard to have consistent interent connection when traveling +700 mph.  I wonder what the bandwidth will be.
