Yea, it sounds kinda cool. Would definetly help me where I have TiVo, SlingBox and Xbox at my TV. In fact I thought I would Digg it, just for fun. So if you want to see how many Diggs it gets or want to digg story feel free to do so. Foot in mouth

Just wanted to drop in and say we're excited too and feel this is a nice solution for those who'd like to easily and securely network mutiple devices.

For comparison: The original Slinglink pair has one ethernet jack each, while the remote unit of the Turbo pair offers four inputs. The max throughput of the original is 14 Mbps, while the Turbo is 85 Mbps. For those so inclined, the Turbo is wall mountable.

I look forward to getting one for my living room where we have a Series3 TiVo, Slingbox Pro, and Xbox 360. (I'd also like to hang a Fonera wireless router off of it.)

Looks like Amazon just pulled it from their site.
The links no longer work.

Did it get removed on purpose?

Is was there, I swear it. Smile

BTW, Kudos to Brandon for sniffing this one out!

And I'm particularly excited about this product too. I like the original SlingLink, but this well serve Internet to my entire home entertainment system. That makes me very, very happy.

I use a Netgear XE104 with my Slingbox. Seems to be pretty much the same thing as the Slinglink, only half the price!

Is that the price for just the 4 port unit or a 4 port and 1 port??

Slinging Tivo HD, Tivo S2, and OTA from a Pro HD, Tivo HD from a Pro, Tivo HD from a Solo, and Humax DRT800 from a Classic to iPhone, Dell Inspiron 1520 with Sprint EVDO, and a SlingCatcher over Mi-Connection cable with 2Mbps upload.

Ah, no - Its just for the four port.

DOES THIS MEANS BETTER PICTURE QUALITY.

The price includes a 4 port unit to place near your devices (Slingbox, Xbox, TiVo, etc) and a 1 port unit which connects to your router in another room. They are sold together as a pair.

Hard to say without knowing your current quality and what impact your current network configuration has on it. The primary purpose of the Slinglink Turbo is to easily network devices.

Which, I agree, makes it competitive with the Netgear - unless you already have a Homeplug network in place - in which case you probably wouldn't require the 1 port device. You may even wish to place many of the 4 port Slinglink boxes around your house, so I think there's a valid case for selling the 4-port unit separately.

Careful with the Slinglink because you cannot conneted to the power-strip because it is a different electrical circuit so it wont transmit...

Just for you to know Cool

<br />Peace !!!

Looks like the price has already been reduced on the Turbo:

You can find other powerline routers for much cheaper that do the same job, I found a 4 port one made by netgear in the sunday electronics newspaper adds for $99.

AndrewAZ - read the whole thread above!

SlingAll - you can connect them to power-strips, but not "filtered" ones. However, even a regular one will degrade the signal, and also I've noticed that switchmode power supplies plugged in close to powerline adapters can affect the signal.

They can also be connected to different circuits, but they must be on the same phase and the same side of the electricity meter.

And another thing - some of the externally linked images in this thread cause IE6 to hang (on two different computers) - is anyone else having this problem?

Ok? How is this any different than the netgear one I bought? The netgear says the same junk and same speed. You are just paying for the name on this product... Its like the people who buy the apple airport when they can get a linksys wrt45g for 1/4 of the price that works better.
